hi

i too was told to go to a counseller after my friend did and said it was effective!. i was soo scared and she literally had to hold my arm and drag me up the stairs!. she shoved me into the room and wouldn't let me go out so i thought **** it i'll try it so i did!.

i was very very suspicious of the man at first but he was very reassuring and the session allowed me to release what i was thinking and actually have a good cry!. yes i felt sooo stupid in front of the man but afterwards i felt so much better!.

what i'm saying is yes its scary but once you get in there, its really not that bad!. counsellors are there to listen to you and not pass opinion, to help you talk out your problems and it really helped me!.

i would say try it, even if just for one session!.

its not that bad =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

i remember i'm seeing school counselor before!.but i can't remember if i'm alone or with a friend!.don't worry, school counselor is really friendly!.you don't need to afraid of him/her!.they'll just asked you what's bothering your mind and they'll tried to help you!.my school counselor help me once!.i'm a SAD and i'm very scared to see her as well but she's really nice person!.if you're really uncomfortable being alone you can brought your friend together!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm going tomorrow for CBT for anxiety!. It'll be my first session so I hear it's very much about introductions and getting to know each other!. Then I will start with weekly meetings to review guided self help work and then I will engage in intensive one-on-one therapy after I've learned the basics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

getting help is very scary ive been thinking of getting help for about a year and am still to scared to go get it!. i dont know if your friend would be able to go with you but if you explain that you need them for support then im sure they would be allowed!.

You do know that 'lol' means 'laugh out loud', right!? Not exactly appropriate, is it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, first make sure you get someone you like!. my first therapist sucked and i ended up losing a lot of weight and i had to go onto the kids psych ward at the hospital!. but there, i got some helpful stuff!. now, my therapist generally asks how things are going, but at the beginning she asked a lot of questions, just to get to know my life!. the first time i was really able to talk about anything was the first night on the kid's ward!. i felt like my life couldn't get any worse, so why not tell the world!. and i actually felt a little better that night!. so tell your therapist everything that's on your mind, every thought you've had, no matter how trivial!. if it's still in your head, he/she wants to know about it!. and if she/he doesn't make you feel at least a little better, try someone else!. good luck, and don't be afraid to ask for a new therapist =)Www@Answer-Health@Com
