Question: What is emo!?
emo!.!.!.!.its not a style, its a problem, you cant choose it, its just like depression!. Emo is not a trend, not the way you look or act, if your emo your emotionally unstable, you lash out at yourself & cant stop!. People who call themselves emo and think there emo but do no physical harm to themselves is not one!. untill you actually experience it yourself you wont know the pain and constant sadness they go through!. people say

emo does stand for emotional but it does not mean you are emotionally unstable!.
'emos' express their emotions whether it be happy, sad etc!. through art normally such as music, poetry or photography!.
they are not emotionally UNSTABLE, they simply express their emotions more than others!.!.!.(no i do NOT mean depression + cutting :@)

Emo is a scene, particularly among middle and high school students, associated with various bands and styles of clothing/hair/makeup!. Quite frequently, emos will cut themselves and make a show of it, as if to give themselves cred!.
However, people who actually do suffer from clinical depression and/or self injure don't do that!. Some may wear those sorts of clothes and listen to that sort of music, but the vast majority of them don't!. People who face those true mental issues come from all ages, colors, creeds, and backgrounds!.
I wish people would understand that being emo is just a scene, and it is no more indicative of a mental illness than any other!. Just as one would not say that goths are really schizophrenic or skaters are really bipolar or preps are really OCD, no one should say that emos are really depressed!.
