Question: What sort of things can an older bro do to help a younger bro who is cutting!?
I know I have asked a question about this a few minutes ago!. But it seems like people don't think me giving him a hug and a shoulder to cry on is a good idea!. One person said I should hit him on the head and tell him to toughen up and be a man!.
I would like to know from the cutters and reformed cutters here whether having an older brother there would help!? I just want him to know that I love him and that if he ever died I would hate myself forever!.

i have been cutting for a while, stopped for a week, wish i had an older brother to help!. i think a chat would probablly help and tell him that he is worth it, you know you can't stop him from cutting but make sure it doesn't go any further and that if he is ever worried about a cut or something you're there for him!. i know he is a guy and that is all probablyl a bit too soft, but i guess you just need to kno someone is there to talk to!.

Giving your brother a hug is very gay and he might get the wrong impression!.
Secondly, he is a GUY, he needs someone to harden him up!. You need to tell your parents so they can enrol him in a boot camp!. He needs to be a man and not to be so emotional!.

i've started cutting awhile ago, and it helps to just reassure!. let him know that you are there, that it's between you and him, and create a barrier of trust more so, so he can talk with you!. show him you understand how he feels, and just ask why!. no matter what his response is, don't laugh, just listen!. he'll appreciate it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok, i used to be a c***** (i can't spell it, cuz family members are around)!.!.!.anyway, i never wanted ppl to be around me, or know i was doing it, unless they were random ppl i didn't know much!.!.!.so, it might not be a good idea if you try to get involved!.!.!.oh my goodness, i feel so sorry for him, and i know how stupid this is, but i would LOVE to talk to him, or you, or help in anyway you want!.!.!.i experienced four horrendous years of severe untreated depression and anxiety, and i had SO many problems!.!.!.it kills me to hear someone else out there fighting what i could hardly live through!.!.!.so i would love to talk to him, or you!.!.!.i just wanna help in anyway i can!.!.!.and i don't think that can be done in one "yahoo answer"
By the way, i am 17 yrs old, and im guessing your brother is also a teenager, so it would prolly help if he had some other teenager to talk to!.!.!.so, encourage him to do so!.!.!.tell him to find someone his age, or older in the teenage years to help him, cuz they'll be able to relate to the pressures taht teenagers have now a days!.!.!.otherwise, ASK him to turn over his TOOLS!.!.!.one day at school, someone took my keys, my manicure set, my pens, and everything else that was sharp out of my purse!.!.!.They ASKED me if i would give them over, and i surrendured!.!.!.trust me, he doesn't want to be cutting!.!.!.
