Question: Im always depressed, help me!?
im really sad and depressed all the time for many reasons like: my life pretty much sucks, my parents hate me and want me to move out (and im only 15), my father is abusive to me, aswell as my brother who i a black belt in taekwondo, mum does nothing, they have driven me to cutting myself badly, nothing in my life is right and i mean that there is not one thing in my life that is good and dont say atleast you have your health because i have scoliosis and have to wear back brace and always have back and neck pain really badly even right now, i have to get counselling and i dont want it i pretty much hate my life and i want to die and hope i get hit by the next car i see!.
what i am asking is how do i be more happy how do i stop cutting (i have tried and the longest i have lasted was 25 days)
i dont want to do it anymore but is really hard to stop andi just dont want to be here and the only reason i havnt killed myself (and yes i have tried) is my bf who is so good to me and he helpsmeWww@Answer-Health@Com

honey, its gonna be okay!. I've been there too!. Its hard but trust me everything will turn out okay!. My best advice(what helped me the most) is find someone you can talk to, it can be a best friend a bf or you can email me if you like!. you just need to talk to someone about what you are thinking and why you are doing these things to yourself!. no one's life or body is worth risking or endangering over anything!. so find that person you can talk to and write in a journal or sketch, whatever calms you down!. and whenever things get really bad at home call that friend we talked about!. second, I had real big problems (attemped suicide multiple times) and was sent to the hospital!. there they helped me develop a safety plan, it is what I do when i feel like i want to hurt myself, it is just calming yourself down and usually involves being around people that care about you!. mine is

I am old, I have the same problem as you in more ways than I would like to admit!. The suicide thing comes like clockwork!. It never works!. I ****** up my liver, kidneys, lungs; all suicide attempts!. Painkillers is a big boo boo!.
Join a gym!. do yoga!. Go swimming!.
Stop cutting, When you want to feel pain, go to gym!. Go run until the burning in your legs feel like inferno!. Sing loud and clear for the world to hear!. I put my mp3 player on go to the wood and sing , scream what ever!. It works!.
If your parents want you out, then what r u waiting for!. Go c the world!. Don't wait for better days!. This is it!. Get you passport ready, grab you boyfriend and travel!. Do it now while you can!.
You get to work in different countries (good for the CV) You get to meet new people (forgetting the old habits) !.

You said you have to go to counseling I know you must hate it but that is the best place to talk about feelings like this and what all is going on in your life!. They might be able to help you some and come up with some ideas to help you deal with what all is going on!. I wish I could be more helpful I feel sorry for you with all that going on in your life!. I suffer from depression and wish I could die sometimes!. I go to a psychologist and he has been able to help me a lot!. The thing is you have to be open and honest with how you feel and what's going on in your life!. If your not then they can not help you!. You have a boyfriend that loves you and thinks the world of you and that's wonderful!! I wish I had a woman who loved and cared about me!. You know that when you hurt yourself you are hurting him as well!. If anything happened to you it would destroy him so please try and not hurt yourself!. I think you sound like a really sweet and nice girl myself!. The next time you and your councilor talk tell them about what is going on and how you feel!. Listen to My Chemical Romance (the band) i know it sounds random but trust me, this band has saved lives! i get really bad depression as well and im telling this band is a life saver, and what have you got to lose!?
Also you need to get help, fast!. if you dont have the money to go see a professionalthen there are lots of kids help lines out there that yu can talk to!.

I think that you really need to talk to somebody professional about your feelings!. You mentioned that you are already seeing a counsellor and you dont want it, maybe try to get another counsellor coz the one that you are seeing may not be the best one for you personally and one that you get on with and trust will make all the difference!.
You are in a great position knowing that you want to change and not do these things anymore and that will help, but please, talk to a professional and get the help you deserve!

I've only found one way out - and that's life with Jesus in it!. If people only knew who Jesus REALLY is - He's not fictional like so many think He is, and He's not a mere "religion" either!. If He were fictional - if He were just "religion", I wouldn't be here right now and neither would a whole bunch of others who have only been freed from depression because of what Jesus has done in our lives!. Want to know what MY life was like!? I was a cutter [still have the scars on my left arm], I overdosed on pills once to end my life, my homelife was such a wreck that I constantly wanted to run away !.!. and I did at one point!. I couldn't take it anymore !.!. I took my bag, a few belongings and ran out the front door in tears!. I felt angry, bitter & hurt !.!. I didn't want my family or my life anymore!. I've been recently dumped from a 2 year relationship with a guy I THOUGHT was my best friend and future husband!. He left me because he couldn't deal with the "wreck" I became!. My self esteem was extremely low, I've never had many friends at all, I failed & messed up 3 years of uni [my parents want me to be a professional, so my uni failure only added to my misery] and on top of all that, my own brother was threatening my life!. It got to the point where I could barely sleep at night!. Not a wonderful way to live, let me tell you!.

I didn't want my life anymore, and I became furious at everyone !.!. especially at this "Jesus" person, this "God!." The night I overdosed, I told Him I hated the life He'd given me!. I told Him he hadn't helped me & I doubted He ever would !.!. so I took 23 pills!. I was terrified but I didn't want life anymore!. My body refused to take the pills!. I threw up the majority & spent the rest of the night in a complete trance!. I was totally out of it !.!. I could barely walk in a straight line & I had to pretend to be OK at dinnertime sitting across from my parents, just so that they wouldn't rush me to hospital !.!. but every bite I took made me want to throw up!. That night, I went to bed crying!. I was afraid I wouldn't wake up the next morning, but I didn't mind because I just didn't want to live anymore!.

But I didn't lose my life!. Jesus intervened - He had a better way of life planned for me, and He wasn't about to let me mess that up by killing myself!. I had been mad at Him before, but He saved my life! He WANTED me to stay - He had PLANS for me! Want to know what I'm like now that I'm trusting Jesus with my life!? Want to know what He's done for me!? My relationship with my parents & family is MUCH better !.!. I've been freed from depression !.!. I no longer cut myself !.!. though my friends abandoned me I'm joyful & don't feel lonely at all !.!. I'm no longer afraid of what life might throw my way, and when trouble comes, I smile and walk through it confidently, knowing that Jesus is walking through it with me!. As long as He's holding my hand, I know I'm OK!. I'm stronger than I used to be, I'm happy, I'm no longer bitter or angry, I've learnt to forgive !.!. & I've been granted a place at a brand new uni! Jesus has truly taken my wreck of a life and turned it around! When my friends ditched me because of the mess my life had become, Jesus picked up the broken pieces & put my heart back together!. My life is blooming & growing in ways beyond belief! I never EVER thought I'd get this far - and I owe my complete turn around to NOBODY but Jesus - the credit goes to Him - not to me, not to my friends, not to my parents, and not to any doctor or psychologist!. If it weren't for Jesus I'd STILL be cutting myself, I'd still be depressed & I'd still have a disastrous life!.

View the suggestions on what to do about self harming, in section 16, at http://www!.ezy-build!.net!.nz/~shaneris and contact them, when you feel the need to self harm/cut!. There is much information, and useful weblinks on my website: far too much to include here, which is why I needed to create it!. Seek therapy, to help you address the actual cause of those problems, rather than using an inappropriate method of treating the symptoms, which others have found, doesn't work, in the longer term, and that leaves behind the extra problem of scarring to deal with, then!.

Depression: I KNOW, from experience, how difficult it is, but once you drag yourself out of bed, throw on a dressing gown, and have a little time in the morning light, preferably doing easy stretching exercises, have a shower, a cuppa, and scrambled eggs and possibly bacon (these provide a lasting energy boost: no carbohydrates for 2 hrs, or extremely little; a teaspoon of sugar is OK)!. Splash cold water on your face, to revive you, as needed!. No daytime sleeping; only 8 - 9 hrs at night!. Antidepressants work quicker than the following; 2 - 6 weeks, but you may have to adjust dosage, or types, whereas St!. John's wort is effective for most people, and doesn't develop tolerance and the few side effects are rare, and usually not severe!.

It doesn't cause sleeping problems, or weight change, but takes 4 - 6 weeks to become effective!. A recent, independent German double blind study showed it to be as effective as Sertraline (marketed in the USA as Zoloft: a commonly prescribed antidepressant) in cases of major depression, with far fewer side effects, and those were generally better tolerated, with a lower rate of discontinuation!. Unlike antidepressants, where sexual dysfunction is a common side effect, it happens much more rarely with St!. John's wort (I have noticed no effect in this area)!.

A multidimensional approach to treating depression without medication follows!. All except for no!. (7!.) are safe to use with medication, but not St!. John's wort, because of interactions, and it's sensible to check out anything else first with your doctor!.

(1!.) Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily: (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or grapefruit, or their FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice!. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it!. Also take a vitamin B complex which is certified as being 100% of natural origin; a deficiency in vitamin B9 (folic acid, or folate) is known to cause depression!.

(2!.) Work up slowly to at least 20 minutes minutes of exercise, daily, or 30 - 60 mns, 5 times weekly!. Too much exercise can cause stress, which isn't wanted when dealing with depression!.

(3!.) Occupational therapy (keeping busy allows little time for unproductive introspection, and keeps mental activity out of less desirable areas of the brain)!.

(4!.) Use daily, one of the relaxation methods in sections 2, 2!.c, 2!.i, or 11, and/or yoga, Tai Chi, and/or the EFT, in sections 2!.q, 2!.o, and section 53, at http://www!.ezy-build!.net!.nz/~shaneris whichever works best for you!.

(5!.) Initially, at least, some form of counselling, preferably either Cognitive Behavio(u)ral Therapy, or Rational Emotive Behavio(u)ral Therapy!.

(6!.) Maintain a mood chart, and daily activities schedule, as per page R, in section 2, at ezy build!.

(7!.) As options, if desired, either a known, effective herbal remedy, such as St!. John's wort, (the strength varies, but the supplier should be using a standardised hypericin content, so follow the directions) or supplements, such as SAMe, or Inositol (from vitamin and health food stores, some supermarkets, or mail order: view section 55)!.

Also, 80% of people in the Western world have low magnesium levels, and these are known to cause depression & anxiety!. Try the magnesium supplement types shown in http://www!.real-depression-help!.com/ Some of these will be available in pharmacies, or supermarkets!.

An improvement can be noticed in as little as a week, if a deficiency is the cause!. Also, iodised salt is much preferable to regular salt (one of the treatments in books on depression is iodine drops)!.
