Got over anxiety and depression. Starting to come back?!

Question: Got over anxiety and depression!. Starting to come back!?
At the beginning of the year I was really depressed and was having anxiety attacks for the first time in my life!. I went to therapy (I still go every other week) and they tried me on meds!. I hated all the meds (killed my sex drive) and stopped taking them per my doctors approval!. I have led a relatively depression and anxitey free life for the past 3-4 months!.

Now the feelings are creeping back into my head!. I am under more stress than normal!. I will soon be starting a new job and drastic change has always freaked me out!. I find myself feeling anxious and nervous for NO REASON!. Ill be watching TV and all of a sudden I feel the anxiety below the surface!.

I can take the meds again if my feelings get worse!. I have a full supply Xanax!. But I dont want to do that because I did not like what it did to me!. I also have some Wellbutrin XL that I have never taken!.

Any advise!? Id like to get this under control naturally!. Any natural ways that will help!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Becoming an optimist has helped my anxiety/depression a lot!.

Looking back, I realized what a terribly negative outlook I had on life!. I anticipated bad things happening before they happened!. Because of this, it became a self-fulfilling prophecy and bad things did happen!.

The book "Learned Happiness" by Martin E!. Seligman has helped me a lot!. Also, instead of being so subjective about things, try looking at things objectively!. I try to step outside myself and look at my life as if I was a character in a movie!. I then realize how easy my problems are to fix!.

Go to the library and read books on anxiety/depression!. Look at books in tune with the Positive Psychology movement!. Look for books on optimism!.

Go to a bookstore because the newer books out usually have more to do with positive psychology than older ones!.!.!.!.

I went to a psychiatrist for anxiety and he only made it worse!. I took anxiety meds but they only gave me a headache!.!.!.

You don't need drugs! You just need to turn yourself into an optimist and have a new outlook on life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some natural remedy I undertook was avoid taking drinks that are depressant especially coffee & alcohol!. Use bright lights in your house like the flourescent lamps instead of those cozy bulbs but daylight is still the best!. If you can find time and walk in the park where there are lots of trees or maybe go to the beach!. Nature is also one of the best remedies for depression!.

I know of a site that is full of information on depression!. Check this out:

U have the same story I have! My anxiety and depression flare up to the point that I can't function when i'm under stress (or in a bad relationship)!. I've been on Paxil & Effexor; both of which killed my sex drive (i'd rather be depressed than not be able to enjoy sex!) BUT I've been on Welbutrin SR for years (on and off) and have never had any sexual disfunction! This is the only antidepressant that I know of that promotes the lack of sexual side effects!. I've noticed (for me anyways) that any drug that combats anxiety has bad sexual side effects!. But I've found its easier to deal with my anxiety when i'm not depressed!. I only have to use my Xanax once in a blue moon for severe attacks!.

Bottom line: Try the Welbutrin!. it may help u as it helped me!.

Also, continue your therapy! Ask your Dr about this book: Mind over mood by Dennis Greenberger & Christine Padesky!. I used that book in my cognitive behavioral therapy and it REALLY helped me understand and lessen my anxiety!

I hope things get better for you!Www@Answer-Health@Com
