no one really knows for sure but there is great speculation that it is the mind "emptying" it's unnecessary contents to start anew for the next day!.
it is, however, proven that if you don't get sleep that after a period of time you will die!. many have supposed that if you don't dream (even if you remember it or not) then your mind stops functioning!. relatively extreme, but like i said it's speculated and not really proven because no one knows yet!. the mind is the one thing that we know the least about in all of the human body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
