Question: Please Help(emotion related)!?
Well for some reason i seem to care too much on what people think so this causes me to be quite or not act as myself!.!.!.!.!.normally if the spotlight goes on me or if there is a big group of people i tend to walk away unless for a few people that i am really comfortable with!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.when people say insulting things to me i seem to bottle it up and at times i dont stand up for myself!.!.!.!.!.!.can you give me advice on how to get over these problems and is there a condition for this!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can't remember the user's name who posted this link a lttle while ago, but I feel like it may be pertinent to you!. I read it, and it was like reading my own life story!. At 44 years old, I felt 'validated' that (as an introverted person) there is nothing wrong with me, but that someone finally wrote an essay, that relates to the fact that people just don't understand me, or my needs!.

I totally know the feeling--it is much easier said than done to stop caring what people think!.

First of all, how old are you!? I've heard that around early adolescence/middle school age, there are actually changes happening in the brain that make one more self-conscious that at any other point in one's life!. I know that when I was in middle school I was EXTREMELY self-conscious and worried about what people thought, but I have grown out of that by now!.

Having a group of friends that you're really comfortable with who you know think well of you helps, too!. If you know that the important people in your life support you, it's easier to dismiss the opinions of people who really aren't close or important to you at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i know this sounds weird but i used to talk to myself and pretend that i was saying what i had wanted to say to the insulting person!. i would do it whenever someone pissed me off but i didn't have the kahonas (sp lol) to say something to their face!. it helped me relax a little and i wasn't holding everything inside!. it really helped me and it still does!.
