You are describing normal depression - sadness in response to a saddening situation (breakup) or worry!. If anything, you would benefit from improved coping skills!. Therapy is not a two time fix!. If you want improved coping skills, you need to stick with it six months or longer in order to really learn and change the negative thought processes that you've built in!. Nothing in what you've described sounds like medication is the best answer, btw!. That's more appropriate for when the depression sticks day in and day out for weeks and months at a time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Only a doctor can determine if you have a chemical imbalance!.

But "think positive" is baloney!. You are a human being living in the real world!. You will sometimes think negative thoughts; this is normal and healthy!. Sometimes negative thoughts are nature's way of giving you a reality check!. You sound OK to me, and believe me, I've read a lot of posts that don't sound OK at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You describe a possible bi-polar condition!. I would see your doctor to see what you have!. Yes it is thought that a chemical im-balance and personal circumstances leads to depression, bi-polar disorders and some other mental illness like ADD and ADHD!. Different medications are designed to increase different chemicals in the brain to treat the illness!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You fix a chemical imbalance by making an appointment with a dietitian!. If there is a mental health office in your town visit it and see what options they give you!.
Mental health not right calls for a lot of vitamin B!. Best not smoke or take in a lot of candy or other sweets!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yeah i see it happens!.!.!.just try to overcome itWww@Answer-Health@Com

i have the same exact problem but different thought and how i go about stuff!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.it used to not be so bad but eventualy it did and i got on lithium and it seems to work, but it hasnt been very long!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.the only way i know how to fix it is when i feel like im about to go into that funk and the bad thoughts start i say, dont sink to the bottom, like i try to pull myself(i vision it)out of it b4 it completely consumes me and its over!.!.!.!.like i force myself to not think of the issue at all,and its very hard to do, cuz the bad thoughts want to take over, but i make myself win in my head!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.it works for me!.!.!.!.and just realizing that i get like this sometimes i know the triggers and tell myself here we go again, but since i know it, i can better control it!.

i mean theres med and stuff but you have to try to learn to live with it in a good way too!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Talk to your doctor and s/he will recommend you to a counselor type doctor who will get to know you a little better!. If it's a chemical imbalance, they will most likely prescribe medication!. Please take my advice and don't try any new anti-depressants and stay away from Paxil!. My whole family is on fluoxotine (Prozac) and there aren't any side effects and it definitely helps with the anxiety!.
Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Everyone has negative thoughts from time to time, and the things you're worrying about are things everyone worries about!. It doesn't sound like a chemical imbalance, but you need to talk to your doctor about it!.

If you went to a psychologist and you felt better after 2 sessions, then there's not much wrong with you!. Sounds like you may have some self esteem problems, if anything!.

Talk to your Doctor & get a referal back to the psychologist or some other type of mental health counsellor, and this time stay for more than 2 sessions!. You'll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
