Question: Anyone in Lamictal!?!? Any gained weight!?
I was diagnosed with some kind of bipolar dissorder, and given Lamictal by my doctor!.
I've never taken any medications!.
I'm specially concerned by gaining weight, I had an anorexia episode and right now I'm in a deep depression in which i do not go out because I think I'm fat!.
I'm scared to death to take the pill and gain some weight or start eating more!. The doctor says it does not have that side effect, but still he have never taken it!.
SO anyone with a personal experience!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

take it for bipolar disorder!.!.!.no side effects until i went up to 200 mg (i felt dazed, short term memory loss, unable to sleep)!.!.!.but then i went down to 150 and felt fine!. no weight gain!! yay!!! and its safe for diabetics!! yay! lol!.

Be VERY WATCHFUL of your body if you decide to begin this medication!. There is a rash that can occur with this med which is DEADLY (no, I am not kidding)!.For this reason, it is absolutely VITAL that you start at a VERY LOW DOSE and ramp up gradually (the effective dose will likely be considerably higher than your starting dose)!.
If you notice ANY red spots/hives/rash when you start this med - discontinue it IMMEDIATELY and phone the doc!.
Lamictal is marginal (at best) as a treatment for bipolar disorder (it is actually an anti-seizure medication)!. It is unlikely that this med will have an effect (one way or the other) on appetite and weight!.

well the only best thing to do is not take the pill because they can cause some serious health conditions and that's not good health so i wouldn't worried about weight so if i was you i would start my own workout program, eat plenty fruits and veggies, whole grain beards/cearels, drink water!. so be happy to yourself and maintain your health!!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I take Lamictal for bipolar and have had no weight gain or other side effects except that when I went over 200mg, I had some cognitive issues which went away when I reduced!. This is good medicine for bipolar, particularly bipolar depression! (Michele doesn't know what she's talking about on that!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com
