How do I get and stay happy?!


Question: How do I get and stay happy!?
So here's the deal, I am emo!. Not slit my wrist emo, just depressing music, dark clothing!. I'm happy sometimes!.!.!.I guess!.

But lately, I just cant get or stay happy!. I feel like I am stuck in a coma having an endless nightmare!. And the only time I am truly happy is basically when I am sleeping/dreaming, or just writing!. I write poetry!.!.!.its a nice escape but it can only do so much!.

So basically my question is!.!.!.how do I get happy!? I know I'm emo but!.!.!.I was happy once and lately I cant get happy or anything really!.

Continue your poetry writing, its not an escape but a talent and you know your Good at it!. Try to find reasons that cause your unhappiness and defy them but the best that you can do as of now is Love yourself more and more!. That increases your self-esteem and confidence, once you have that people could sense your Aura and can reflect it to you!. Smile, it cost you nothing!. Don't just be a heavy spirited emo, well that's overrated!. Always talk to your friends, find companions!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well what I am gathering is that you are depressed, you seem to be withdrawn and you could care less about what others think!? Right!? Thats depression so dont let anyone just tell you its a "teenage thing" or you are trying to follow the crowd!. And you were trying to follow the crowd then thats another thing in itself in which you might need help also!. Besides I dont believe emo is very cool anymore!. True you should not be labeling yourself but emotionally unstable might just be better words!. Get help! Medication could help, the out doors could help, many things could help you!. Just find something to get you were you want to be!.

Oh man, you need to snap out of this stupid phase!. It doesn't make you look different or original, it makes you look either desperate, or like a crowd-follower!. Liking the music is fine, but if you were serious about wanting to be happy, you would be!. How about trying to get some positive energy going!? SMILE!. Work out!. Stop labeling yourself!. Go outside!. Wear shorts!. Swim!. Get a happy hobby!. Laugh!. Make jokes!. Watch comedy movies!.

Sorry kid, but you're setting yourself up to be depressed all the time with all that darkness you surround yourself with!. You're to blame, and you can easily change if you want!.

Ha I'm a really happy person but since I've been listening to MCR who I now LOVE honestly I'm on the brink of becoming emo :) So maybe don't listen to them so much!
If you write a diary then try to think of one good thing that's happened to you today, I mean it can be anything, like new clothes or being a sunny day or a new show on TV or something!. It should make you happier!Oh and watch comedy movies/tv shows!

Perfect Solution:

Get out and exercise until you can't do it anymore and you should feel really good!. I read somewhere that you can boost your energy by exercising!. I would be happy with any type of energy boost!. I think this will work if you try it!.

There are millions of reasons why you may be unhappy!. Based on the information that you have given, it would be impossible to interpret any "cause"!.

What you need to realize, though, is that happiness is nothing but a state of mind!.

Something that I have observed over the years: you become what you surround yourself with!. In other words, if you spend time with happy people, you are, or are likely to become, happy yourself!. You describe the music that you listen to as "depressing"!. What's up with that!?!

What else can I say!? Some people will always dislike you for who you are, what you look like, how you act, or what you believe!. In order to be happy, you must approve of yourself, rather than seeking approval from others!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know what it's like to be depressed--I've been depressed for 13 years, and I'm 19 now (my father passed away when I was 6)!.

I have to admit--you're asking the wrong question!. In my 13 years of struggling, I've slowly, but surely, realized that you can't "get" happy!.

My mother is from another country, so she doesn't understand the idea of depression--I'll talk to her on the phone and she'll say, "Is it because of me!?"

I'll say, "No!."

She'll say, "Well, then, get happy!. I don't understand!. Just be happy!."

Happiness is not a switch that you can turn on and off at will!. It doesn't work that way!. I mean, if only life were so easy, right (if it were, we would also have switch to magically turn off our depression!.!.!.)!? But, unfortunately, it's not!. Life is about ups and downs, but if we choose to continually wallow in our downs and think of quick fixes--we will continue our downward spiral into the deep, dark pit of depression hell!.

Trust me, I know what you mean about the endless nightmare and feeling trapped!. But you have to fight it!. "Getting happy" won't solve anything!. Think about what you like to do--think about what you want to do and do it!.

No hesitation!. If there are things you don't like about yourself, fix it!. Don't like your weight!? Go on a diet!. Do you like watching plays, but are afraid of interacting with people!? Go anyway!.

Granted, these are all examples and may not necessarily have anything to do with you, but my point is, get out and do things you love, regardless of your depression!. I'd also like to mention that if you view the world through negative, demeaning eyes, you yourself will become negative and demeaning, thus furthering your depression!. The only person who can control your depression is YOU and no one else!.

If you choose to wallow, you will wallow!.

If you choose to fight it and live life, you'll live life!.

Seeing a therapist may also help you to talk about the negative feelings buried deep inside of you that you may not be able to conquer on your own!.

Take control of your life!. Only you can do it!. Remember, suffering is unavoidable, pain is optional!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to add to the activities you already enjoy!. Choose to be around people who can interest you in new things!. Be open minded!. Get out into the fresh air--it's summer here!. Enjoy all the little things!. There's something to 'take time to stop & smell the roses!.' Go for a walk!. Notice the beauty in all that is around you!. Smile and say 'hello' to people as you pass them by!. Make sure you're eating healthy regular meals & drinking plenty--water that is! Get 8 hours of sleep every night!. Don't oversleep!. If you don't want to do this on your own or if you're not feeling 'happier' in a week, make an appt!. with the dr!. You may have a chemical imbalance in your brain like so many of us do (this is NOT a bad thing!!), the dr!. can make further suggestions for you and perhaps prescribe something to help balance out the brain chemical thing!.
