It sounds to me like a dose of perspective change is what you really need!. Spend some time in nature, maybe go out and see some new sights that will lift your spirits!. There are a lot of surprisingly simple ways to get a breath of fresh air!.

Also, do find someone who you enjoy hanging out with and spend time with them!. I know you said social activities wear you out, but I've often been in the same boat myself, and I can tell you that once you find a group of friends that makes you really happy to see them, getting out and socializing once in a while does wonders for your mood!. Sometimes you just can't fix everything yourself--we're built to need other people!.

Also, and this is probably the weirdest suggestion, try talking to your subconscious!. Through journaling and/or talking to "imaginary friends," you might be able to get a better idea of what's bothering you and what can be done to fix it!. Personally, I sometimes sit down at the computer and type out long conversations with myself--I don't do it every day, but I find that when I do it really helps me figure out what's going on with me emotionally!.

Hope this helps! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have lived thru depression too!. Fighting depression involves changing the way you think about things i!.e everytime you have a negative thought you have to think about the positive i!.e today it's raining but I hear tomorrow is going to be sunny!.!.!.or if you find yourself being self-critical you have to think of something you feel good about to make up for it!. Like well I did bad on that last math test but that's b/c I didn't study not b/c I'm not smart!.

Exercising helps alot for improving mood!. When I was depressed it was hard for me to make myself do anything but trust me if you go for a walk or lift some weights you will feel better!.

Depression is not usually something you can fight on your own!. You will feel much better if you are able to talk to a counselor!. Trust me I've gone through that whole process!. It helps alot!. Many people find that they also need an anti-depressant to help them fight the chemical imbalance in the brain from depression i!.e a lack of serotonin!.

If you have mild depression sometimes St!. John Wort works!. You can get that over the counter!. But, I suspect you have something more severe going on and suggest you get help soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, what activities do you Enjoy doing!? and i don't mean suffocating yourself with being around people right now!. do you like to draw, sing, play an instrument, knit/sew, etc!. etc!. !? i know it may not seem like much, or that you have no motivation, but pick something small you like doing For Yourself and just do it!. if it makes you feel better, go from there!. if it doesn't, re-evaluate and pick something else you like doing!.

depression is tough, but consultation doesn't always work!. it only does if YOU want it to, and since you don't, don't even try it =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Rememeber that "You are ,what you think you are " !. It's all about believing in yorself !.
Like seasons , the state of human mind also changes !. Sometimes u feel on top and sometimes in the abyss!.
Enough of philosophy!!!!!!.
Ok so u wanna get out of it by urself !. One of the options r to watch a movie ( preferably comedy) , spend some time with the nature (a park / a garden ) , adopt a pet ( puppy) etc!.
But finally u need to get social " You cannot shake hands with a clnched fist"Www@Answer-Health@Com

you need to get out and have fun and get your mind off of things and try not toworry so much that why your depressed just staying in the house all day!. then your mind starts to play tricks on you makeing you feel more depressed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ahhh ummm, well you leave no options at all, you need to seek help from people, occasionaly poeple can get over it by themselves but thats incedibly rare!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My recommendation!? Find one friend that you have tons in common with!. Starting talking more on the phone, texting each other!. Talk about movies you've seen (not necessarily together, or even in a theater)!. Just start with the small stuff!. Once you feel like you have an ally out there you will find life is a lot easier!.

Be there for them as much as they are there for you, and you may just find a best friend!. When things are meant to progress to a place where you feel like you want to go hang out, or do more things you will naturally be in a happier place!.

I've been in the hospital 14 times in the last 2 years!. But, since I started hanging out with Abby I have managed to stay out of the hospital for 5 months now!. That seems pathetic, but when you are spiraling into the deepest, darkest places of depression it can be a long time!.

Sometimes just having that lifeline can really be all it takes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Put your mind in a position where it wants to shut itself off, and sleep!. See insomnia treatments, in much more detail than can be included here, in section 3, at ezy build, below!. Use one of the relaxation methods, in bed, after lights out, on pages 2, 11, 2!.c, or 2!.i, but they can take some time to learn, (progressive muscular relaxation excepted) so learn and become proficient in their use during the day; an alternative is to use the EFT, in section 53, and pages 2!.q, and 2!.o, saying to yourself: "Even though I currently have a sleep disorder, I deeply and completely accept myself!." (or choose your own wording) while you use the acupressure tapping!. Some more; quick, and easy to learn, are at http://www!.umm!.edu/sleep/relax_tech!.htm I have not yet evaluated them, but they seem to be worthwhile trying, and I like to provide options!.

Find out which works best for you, in the daylight hours, so you will be prepared, come bedtime!. For many people, a good idea is to develop a set "wind down" routine for the last hour before bedtime, so your subconscious mind learns that it is time to put thinking aside, and prepare for mindfulness, (awareness, without cogitation/purposeful thought) or the EFT, in preparation for sleep, but the idea with mindfulness is to not even think about sleeping: just drift off, naturally, during exercising those techniques!. I suggest that you try using the EMDR variant, below, prior to the mindfulness, or the progressive muscular relaxation, but after the EFT, if that method is chosen!. Experiment, to find which combination works best!.

(The following is a variant of EMDR therapy, which has been used successfully for those people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, insomnia, and anxiety: it is easily learned, quick to use, yet can be very effective!. It is easy to be dismissive of such a seemingly unusual technique, but give it a good tryout, for at least a few weeks, to see if it is effective in your case!.)!.

Prior to using either of the methods in the above paragraph, first sit comfortably, and take a deep breath!. Then, without moving your head, move your eyes from the left, to the right, and back again, taking around a second to do so (say: "a thousand and one": this takes approximately a second)!. Repeat this procedure (without the words, although you can count, subvocally, if you like) 20 times!. Then close your eyes and relax!. Become aware of any tension or discomfort you feel!.

Then open your eyes, and take another deep breath, and repeat step one, closing your eyes, and relaxing afterwards, in the same manner!. Then, repeat the procedure one last time!. Some people may find that this is all they need do!.

With experience, you may find that you can practise this with your eyes closed!. Experience has taught me that the 2 - 3 minutes spent using the EMDR markedly reduces distractions to the relaxation process, and is repaid many times over!. I have a cup of chamomile herbal tea, an hour before bedtime, and use the above techniques!. Others may prefer Sleepytime, by Celestial Seasonings, or valerian root, from supermarket tea, or health food aisles!.

I KNOW, from experience, how difficult it is, but once you drag yourself out of bed, throw on a dressing gown, and have a little time in the morning light, preferably doing easy stretching exercises, have a shower, a cuppa, and scrambled eggs and possibly bacon!.

These provide a lasting energy boost: no carbohydrates for 2 hrs, or extremely little; a teaspoon of sugar is OK, but Xylitol is preferable, [health food stores] or fruit sugar [fructose, such as "Fruisana", from supermarket sugar aisles] or even a LITTLE honey!. Splash cold water on your face, to revive you, as needed!. No daytime sleeping; only 8 - 9 hrs at night!. Antidepressants work quicker than the following; 2 - 6 weeks, but you may have to adjust dosage, or types, whereas St!. John's wort is effective for most people, and doesn't develop tolerance and the few side effects are rare, and usually not severe!.

It doesn't cause sleeping problems, or weight change, but takes 4 - 6 weeks to become effective!. A recent, independent German double blind study showed it to be as effective as Sertraline (marketed in the USA as Zoloft: a commonly prescribed antidepressant) in cases of major depression, with far fewer side effects, and those were generally better tolerated, with a lower rate of discontinuation!. Unlike antidepressants, where sexual dysfunction is a common side effect, it happens much more rarely with St!. John's wort (I have noticed no effect in this area)!.

A multidimensional approach to treating depression without medication follows!. All except for no!. (7!.) are safe to use with medication, but not St!. John's wort, because of interactions, and it's sensible to check out anything else first with your doctor!.

(1!.) Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily: (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or grapefruit, or their FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice!. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it!. Also take a vitamin B complex which is certified as being 100% of natural origin; a deficiency in vitamin B9 (folic acid, or folate) is known to cause depression!.

(2!.) Work up slowly to at least 20 minutes minutes of exercise, daily, or 30 - 60 mns, 5 times weekly!. Too much exercise can cause stress, which isn't wanted when dealing with depression!.

(3!.) Occupational therapy (keeping busy allows little time for unproductive introspection, and keeps mental activity out of less desirable areas of the brain)!.

(4!.) Use daily, one of the relaxation methods in sections 2, 2!.c, 2!.i, or 11, and/or yoga, Tai Chi, and/or the EFT, in sections 2!.q, 2!.o, and section 53, at http://www!.ezy-build!.net!.nz/~shaneris whichever works best for you!.

(5!.) Initially, at least, some form of counselling, preferably either Cognitive Behavio(u)ral Therapy, or Rational Emotive Behavio(u)ral Therapy!.

(6!.) Maintain a mood chart, and daily activities schedule, as per page R, in section 2, at ezy build!.

(7!.) As options, if desired, either a known, effective herbal remedy, such as St!. John's wort, (the strength varies, but the supplier should be using a standardised hypericin content, so follow the directions) or supplements, such as SAMe, or Inositol (from vitamin and health food stores, some supermarkets, or mail order: view section 55)!.

Also, 80% of people in the Western world have low magnesium levels, and these are known to cause depression & anxiety!. Try the magnesium supplement types shown in http://www!.real-depression-help!.com/ Some of these will be available in pharmacies, or supermarkets!.

An improvement can be noticed in as little as a week, if a deficiency is the cause!. Also, iodised salt is much preferable to regular salt (one of the treatments in books on depression is iodine drops)!.

This is a shortened version of the much more comprehensive post, which may be seen on page R, in section 2 of ezy build, above, but to gain full appreciation, it's really best to view the whole of section 2!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
