What are some social skills you can teach children? (anger management, coping, l!


Question: What are some social skills you can teach children!? (anger management, coping, listening, etc!.)!?
There are tons of these but I need ideas that can be put into a category then easily identified and understood by kids (ages 10 - 13 or 6 - 9)!. They will keep these reminders with them throughout the day and tell about the ones they've accomplished that day!.
Examples:
Listening skill:
I looked at the teacher when she gave directions!.
Anger management skill:
I walked away from someone who made me mad then counted or used deep breathing until I was calm enough to rejoin the group or activity!.
Coping Skills:
When I felt like I was messing up, I used positive self-talk to say good things to myself like: It

I could not figure out how to complete the math problem!. Rather than get frustrated, I raised my hand and asked the teacher to explain to me how to complete the problem!.

A group of kids were talking!. I wanted to talk, too!. I waited until one person was finished talking, and then I said something that was related to what she said!. After that, I waited quietly while another person had a turn to speak!.

I accidentally tipped over a jar of paint, and got some paint on the shoe of a classmate!. Immediately after it happened, I looked the classmate in the eye and said "I'm sorry, Jenny!. I didn't mean to do that!. May I help you clean it up"!.

Asking to join a game/group!.!.!.

I saw a group of kids playing on the playground!. I was all by myself!. I walked up to the group and said "that looks like a really fun game you are playing!. May I play, too!?"

I had had the blocks during most of play period!. I knew that Douglas enjoyed playing with blocks, too!. When I was finished, I walked over to Douglas and said "I'm done with these now, Douglas!. WOuld you like to use them"!.
