Anyone punish themselves with bad thoughts?!

Question: Anyone punish themselves with bad thoughts!?
Lately, I find myself injecting images of something I really hate-actually phobic about-into everyday thoughts!. I'll be turning down the bedsheets and bam!-make myself imagine this thing--or I'll be eating and suddenly imagine this in my food, etc!.!. Pretty gross and twisted stuff!. Why is my mind doing this to me!?!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The same happens to me from time to time!. I have suffered from OCD (Obsessive-compulsive disorder) in the past and I don't know if this is part of it, but remember that I am not a psychiatrist!. http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/OCD
Obsessions:
"Recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses, or images that are experienced as intrusive and inappropriate and that cause marked anxiety or distress!."
I hate slugs and sometimes I imagine them everywhere and even check under my shoes or think that I am going to see them in my food!. Sometimes I think I am going to get insane!. I have learned to keep my thoughts to myself because I don't want to be judged!. Only the one that suffers from this condition may understand what is going on!. I talked to my daughter about it and she told me that she has the same problem!. We were watching, "A Haunting," and then her mind started to tell her that she wanted to get possessed!. She was terrified!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try to think of something in your life that might be making you feel worried or insecure, and why!. Then, think of nice things, and these images will gradually fade from your mind!.

Try to adopt a positive attitude towards every aspect of your life!. For example, if you are going shopping for say, a new outfit and you find nothing you like, instead of thinking "That was a wasted journey", think "Well, had I not gone, I would have been wondering whether I would have got something if I had!."!.

I know at the moment you might not see a connection, but I promise you that the more positivity you have, the less likely you are to have these thoughts - but most of all, don't see them as a punishment!. I'm sure you have a very good friend whom you can talk to about these thoughts, which will very likely help!. I wish you all the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The devil really does exist, and this is one of the things he does to people!. He does it to everyone at some point or another!. If you allow it, then he'll do it more and more, until you could be labeled with OCD!. Whenever that stuff pops into your head, try telling yourself that it didn't come from you, that you didn't put that thought there, and then forget about it!. Yes, it will return!. Just repeat the process, and remind yourself that the thoughts aren't coming from you, and then forget about them!. Refuse to worry about them!. Eventually, they will come less and less!. If you make it a habit to put them out of your mind, the instant they arrive, they will go away almost entirely!. You are fighting the devil, but you can win!. The only way he wins is if you let him!. Don't let him rule you!. Read a Bible!. God helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe you have a phobia to something you are not aware of!. I do not punish myself with bad thoughts!. However, bad thoughts punish me!. If I have done something I know is wrong, then I think that when something bad happens, I am being punished!.

My mind races all the time too!. That is part of depression, You may need a mood stabilizer to help you feel more calm and less stressed and not have these gross thoughts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
