Question: Does anyone have a child that has Asbergers!?
I am having a lot of problems with my 3 year old daughter and her Dr!. has me filling out a ADD,ADHD, and Asbergers sheet to have her checked!. What was the testing that was done on your child!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

High functioning autism has many, many sub symptoms that are itself different diagnoses/conditions!.
My autistic child started out with seizures, these the doctors said were only my baby holding his breath for attention, he was a baby! So I packed up my kids and I headed to a real hospital a state away (Seattle has a great hospital!!)!.
They helped!.
Then came back home and this is when the "autism" started to be brought up!.
My child went to a specialist when he would not talk with a counselor!. This specialist was in a bigger town, and we had to wait 6 months to see him but we finally did!.
My boy has adhd too, along with seizures, another person brought up some kind of personality disorder!. All of which are the aspergers (which is a syndrome and all a syndrome is is a ketch all for a lot of different conditions)!. The autism scale has grown since there is research going on that has been in the news and funding is coming in for it !.
The specialist my boy saw said there are several things to look out for;
ADD/ADHD
Seizures
Schizophrenia (bi polar is there too)
Depression
Turrets
All I can remember right now!. The doctor wrote the list down and it is around here somewhere, but where!?
My child is on disability, this helps so I am here when he needs me!.
This child is almost 13 now and does not want drugs!. He was on his seizure meds and told me they made him feel "sick" all the time!. Now what his interpretation of "sick" is I am not fully sure, but he is old enough to choose to be drugged or not!.
This sons speech is rather hard for some to understand (we think it is no big deal)!. His arms and legs "twitch", he yells out stuff (we are trying to control this one)!. He has problems dressing himself (we have a handle on this I think!?), hygiene is a huge issue!. School is a joke as far as education (he learns different)!. One teacher refuses to work with this child!.
Your child is still very young!. There is no miracle "cure" out there!. Routine is a must!. Stress is a huge problem that will make symptoms 10 time worse!.
If you can get the diagnoses,and if your child is "bad" enough (interpretation there) see about disability!. It is hard to work when a child is always needing you for some reason!. There are doctor appointment, if on drugs there are needles,then there is the school themselves!.!.!.!.!. and people can be VERY cruel!.
We have neurologists, the specialist above,medical doctors, mental health doctors,disability people, then the school people to deal with!. A child can be disabled through the government but not with the schools!.
Those sheets are to give you something to do!. A doctor who only looks at those sheets is well!.!.!.!.find another doctor! Drugs will be the fist thing they try and push on you, or it was with us!!
Many doctors are not qualified to make such diagnoses, find one that is!
We went through two weeks of testing for the autism!.He basically "played" with toys as the doctor tried to talk to him!. My child did not talk until later!. But I was not allowed in the room most of the time!. So can not say what happened all the time!. My kid depends on me and back then a whole lot more and maybe the doc just wanted to see what he was like without me there!?
