It's because with girls its a real relationship but with family members you probably don't want your family to see you as a sappy kind of guy!.
But girls just see it as a romantic thing!.
Its just your age as well!.
If its bothering you then you probably will change as you get older and you have to look out for your parents!.
With girls and your sister and friends you know you're doing it out of friendliness or fun or something like that but with others it just doesn't seem right!.
It's a natural boys thing, boys tend to bottle things up!.

You are definitely not alone as you've seen from others that have replied!. It has to do with the age you're at and the way our families show affection!. But it's mostly probably your age!. 13 is a very normal age to like hugging the other sex because now they don't have cuties they are cute!. good luck with puberty, with being able to ask when you aren't certain I see you growing up in a very normal adult!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
