Question: Do you like your mental health team!?
i really like my consultant but i just can't get on with my care worker i find him aloaf, cold and sometimes sarcastic!.
i really miss the lady i used to see on a weekly basis she was so amazing but since this guy took over my care i just find him hard to deal with
what can i do!?

personality disorder patients take time to build up relationships, some think they are manipulative patients who would have you sacked and complain about everything and everyone, me I think they are people who are sometimes very lonely , and the only way they can get help and company is by annoying everyone else, but you know what trust is a 2 way thing ,it does not come easy and yes you cmht should know better and be non-judgemental but alas not always the case be direct and next time he is rude ask him direct question( why do I feel you do not like me can you explain to me what I have done to you ) this usually stops them in there tracks, but be prepared for some home truths and be sure it is not you who is the problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am the opposite to yourself in that I don't like my consultant, i find him aloaf, cold and unearthing, whereas I would get on better with my key worker!. I too have been diagnosed with a personality disorder (borderline) and also have depression!.
It should be possible for you to change your care worker if you don't get on with them and getting on with the person your seeing on a regular basis is very important in mental health as they are your support!. Would it be possible for you to have a quick chat with your previous care worker and ask her what you should do!? Is it possible you haven't given the new man a chance because you are hurt at the loss of your previous care worker!? This wouldn't be uncommon!. I had a counsellor who i got on great with, had a good connection and unfortunately i too had to loose her and get someone else (my current key worker) and at the start i found it very hard to like the new person!.!.!.but i wasn't giving her a fair chance!.!.!.this may not be the case with you but its just a suggestion for something to explore!.
If you are really uncomfortable with this new carer i would definately ask to see someone else, you could ask at reception or contact your consultant!. It is your right to do this!

When i did have to work with mental health workers, they were aloof!.!.!.!. it was like laughing was against their rulebook!. Also, if you express any emotion they do not react at all!. i felt like a freak!.!.!.!. as if they are afraid to show emotion because they do not want you to become attached!.!.!. screw that!. i was also dxed with a personality disorder!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Personality disorder, i was reffered to services which deal with personality disorders but was never told i had one!. Goesn't that just suck!? Anyway i like my CMHT but sometimes they freak out too easily and now i'm living in supported accommadation i feel like big brother is watching me, lolWww@Answer-Health@Com
