Is keeping a diary good or bad for OCD?!
Question: Is keeping a diary good or bad for OCD!?
I have OCD and I used to keep a diary but it tended to make me feel superstitious (how I ended my entries, what page I was on, etc!.) However, that was years ago and now I feel very disorganized with my thoughts and i feel like a diary might help!. I do want to start keeping a diary again but I'm afraid it might make me turn into myself and make my OCD worse!. What do you think!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can start keeping one again!. Dairies are good ways of keeping memories and thought!. The only disadvantage is when someone looks at it-invasion of privacy!. But don't feel superstitious about it!. It's a normal way of collecting memories!. the bible is a dairy that the ancients used to book keep happening!.

Instead of using a paper diary that may make you feel abit weary of using as you associate it with your OCD then why not do an on line journal instead!. As these have no order and no temptation!. You also have these journals as hidden thoughts so no one has to read it and also you can share your thoughts too if you like!. A good one is Livejournal!.com and also you can set up a 360 account on yahoo and it has an added feature of a blog too and i think it would help you first and then maybe when you have done this a while and feel more confident and know you can see that it is controlled you can move back to a personal journal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Personally, I wouldn't!. When I used a diary, I tended to go back to it when I was bored and rewrite everything!. So the one diary turned into multiple diaries with the same entries in them, only written differently!. It just makes it worse!. Learning to keep track of your life mentally will actually help you lessen your OCD!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
a diary would most likely help!. i would rather have a diary then clutter!. try just blank notebooks that have a little bit more rooom on a page as well , that might help!.

well if it makes you feel good then get one again or maybe if you feel disoraginzed get a orgainizer!Www@Answer-Health@Com
I myself am not OCD but recently I just got my journal going again and it helps me think things out and organize them on paper and in my mind!
