Yoyr boyfriend is suffering from "Parasomnia Disorder"

I had a lot of stress in my life which caused sever anxiety and depression!. When the anxiety started which included worrying about everything panic attacks, I started having body jerking everynight with trying to fall asleep!.

Sleep talking is pretty harmless to the talker but can be very annoying to the person sleeping next to them!. Episodes of sleep talking can range from small mutterings to long winded conversations!. Most sleep talking is calm and monotone!. Though it is rare, some sleep talkers have been known to yell out and frighten those around them!.

The medical term for sleep talking is somniloquy!.

Sleep talking is a part of the sleeping disorder parasomnia!.

People with parasomnia often display activities in their sleep such as sleepwalking, sleep talking, teeth grinding, and night terrors!. They also may experience body jerking and they may thrash about in their sleep!.
When the body cannot move smoothly from one stage to another they become partially aroused from sleep!.
Sleep talking that happens at a light sleep level tends to be more understandable!.

Somniloquy can also be triggered by stressful situations or occur in times of poor health!. Stress and illness cause poor sleep cycles!. A lack of proper sleep and eating near bedtime can also trigger sleep talking!.
People that talk in their sleep never remember doing so, and are often quite shocked to be told of the things they said while sleeping!.

Jerking in ones sleep is normal as it happens right before our bodies go paralyzed to go into deep sleep!.Its when the jerking has one up all night that it could be a symptom of restless leg syndrome!.

I suffer from various sleeping disorders,as sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome!.snoring, night sweats, nightmares!.When I was a child I suffered from body jerking,Sleep talking, Sleepwalking!.!.!.!.!.!.!.you name it I had all: at the root of all my problems was one thing: ANXIETY!. So!.!.!.!.!.

However the jerking you describe though im not a physician is most probably due to a medication dosage or sleeping disorder!.
I suggest your b/f to contact his md!. asap, If you care for him, with the time it'll get worse not better more complications will come!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

its probably just dreaming!. i talk in my sleep, you can have a whole conversation with me in my sleep and i have also been known to laugh uncontrolably and sing!. when my boyfriend is asleep he jerks about and flinches and it's just him dreaming!. neither of us are bipolar or have adhd!. hope this helps x x xWww@Answer-Health@Com

No they are not related whatsoever!. Jerks are just related to the stage of sleep he is in!.!. REM!.!.!.he just happens to have more of them!. As for talking in your sleep!.!.he cant help it!.!.some people just do weird things when they sleep!.!.atleast there is no sleep walking!.!.haha still could be scary to wake up toWww@Answer-Health@Com

It could be a side effect of his medicine!. Yet, a lot of people without a psychiatric disorder talk in their sleep!. The yelling at guys from work sounds like it is just stress from work that he is bringing home! I wouldn't worry him about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is a chemical released in the brain which stops all of us from acting out our dreams physically!.

Sometimes the body is not quite paralysed enough and we move/talk in our sleep!.

Quite normal!. Not something to go jumping to conclusions about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like he just is stressed!. I dont think it has anything to do with bipolar or adhd!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
