How do you get tested for adult ADD?!
Question: How do you get tested for adult ADD!?
I don't even know where to start!. Is testing expensive!? I have pretty good insurance but I don't know if it would cover that!. (HMO)!. Also, are there other treatment besides meds!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

testing for me cost about $400!.00!. Insurance would more than likely cover that, but you should check with the doctor and HMO provider!. Most do!. I go to therapy once a week and am on meds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I was told by my physician that I would have to be evaluated by a psychologist, and meet a certain criteria in order to be diagnosed!. They wanted my employer or friends to fill out a questionaire describing certain activities I did!. Like how easily distracted, how often I left thing un-done, that kind of thing!.
I didn't go thru with it because of the insurance issue, but if you can, I would go for it!.!.!.!. The docs would be best to tell you about treatment options!.

Any compentent licensed psychotherapist should be able to give you at least a provisional diagnosis!. So can your primary care physician!. Each will only take one session!.
You may need a referral from your PCP for behavioral health before you can see a psychotherapist, but if you call the Customer Service number on the back of your insurance card they can tell you if your policy covers behavioral health, at all, and if so, if you need a referral or not!.
