Mental clarity and insomnia?!

Question: Mental clarity and insomnia!?
I have intermittent bouts of insomnia and an odd sleep cycle where I'll go to bed sometime between 4-8 in the morning, especially during the summer (right now) and vacation (I'm seventeen and in high school), alternating with a more normal one where I'll go to sleep before midnight!.

Anyways, for some reason, even though I've been up for around twenty hours, I don't feel much fatigue!. I feel a tiny amount, but I feel a weird buzz in my body and head, which makes me feel alert and awake; as stupid as this sounds, even watching music videos on TV or reading articles online makes my perception feel much more coherent and cohesive, and my understanding of everything seems more cogent and sharpened!.

Now, I know I'll eventually feel tired later in the morning, and I'll most likely sleep soon, but does anybody know why I feel so mentally lucid, calm, and clear even though my body does feel somewhat tired and I haven't slept in nearly a whole day!? Is there any chemical explanation for it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm an insomniac too!.

Well, how are you physically!? Do you work out!? Do you eat well!?(By well, I mean get all your nutrients, not that crap triangle the government feeds you)!. Are you overweight, and do you drink a lot of soda!? You should try leading a healthier lifestyle, if you don't already!.

Anyway, I don't know of the chemical explanation, but I do it too!. I only ever feel tired if I lay down and close my eyes, and sometimes even then it takes hours for me to sleep!. So I'm curious to see other answers, but I'd take my first advice if you were looking for a change!. Of course, that may not be your problem, but it's a cause!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im right there with you!. i feel more tired when i eat so i sleep twice a day!. usualy from 6 or 7am to 4 or 5pm the from 8pm to about 11pm or 12 am!. i feel alot better when i am on the computer or watching tv too but i think its cuz im focusing on something!. so, getting to you Q!. i think due to the lack of cycled sleep kinda not like sleeping days at a time makes you more lucid!. i like the feeling!. i feel more centered!. its like a calm state of reality cuz your just tired enough to not make a fuss of things and than not tired enough to feel grogy!. its ok to feel this way and if once or twice a week you get a good bit of sleep than its not so unhealthy!. so dont go overboard with it but dont be worried about it either!. whatever makes you feel good!. you might just be one of those people who dont need too much sleep!. i feel worse if i sleep 10hrs like my bf does!. but if you are like me, it could be due to recent inactiveness and poor diet too!. to that will solve it if you want more sleep!. :) take careWww@Answer-Health@Com

Honestly, I don't know the chemical answer you are looking for, but dude, you need to sleep when you feel tired!

Your body needs sleep for so many reasons and it impacts your health more than you know! You should change your diet to raw, organic fruits and vegetables and consume healthy grains, maybe even start juicing!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.boost your immune system and you will be able to get back into your sleep cycle!.

An inexpensive way to help yourself get to sleep when you need to is to take a melatonin lozenge under your tongue!. Melatonin is something your brain naturally produces to induce sleep, but if your having issues, you could try that!.

Also, sleeping in a completely dark room should help!. Turn off all music, tvs, computers, lights and black out your curtains!. You will have a more restful sleep without any interruptions and will feel much better when you are awake!. I know you weren't asking how to get to sleep, but I think you need to feel concerned!.!.!.!.!.!.!.you could be setting yourself up for major health problems later by not addressing the problems that might seem minor now!. Go to sleep! lolWww@Answer-Health@Com
