I know how you feel honey, I also have a son who was dx with bipolar at the age of 17!. He is now 25 but he never has acted out like your daughter is doing!. She sounds like a spoiled brat that doesn't want to be controlled or labeled!. Unfortunately we have to let our kids grow up and make their own mistakes and guide them in the right direction when they ask for help!.!.!.Do not let her situation cause you to have anymore stress in your life that causes you health problems!. If you are a Christian you can turn to our Father for help and give your daughter to Him in your prayers!. I did and all of our problems are His and believe me I feel so much better!. Don't wait until you get a call that's she is hurt or dead!.!.!.!.!.!.!.tell her you will be there for her and let her go!. Once she realizes that you're not going to chase her down then she may feel less trapped and come back on her own!. Take care of yourself so you will be able to take care of her when she realizes what loving parents she has!. She will know this and appreciate it one day!. I DO hope it's sooner than later !.!.!.that day will come to you both!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Is your daughter on medication to control her Bipolar!? Because the moving in and out with people can be a sign of mania or depression!.

You need to get her to get medicated and into therapy!. Mood stabilizers like Lithium or Lamicatal help alot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to get a conservatorship over her like Britney's parents have over her!. You will be able to control her then bc she won't have any more rights as an adult!. Unless, you just want to wash your hands of the situation bc she is and adult and you dont have to help her anymore!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Mekalah if the questioner is posting from the UK, no such thing exists over here!. Once a child is no longer a minor (at 18) then responsibility passes to the child unles they have a form of MI that means they'd be a danger to themselves or others and bipolar disorder isn't deemed to be such (by the way, referring to your daughter as "a 19 year old bipolar" is incredibly dehumanising - we bi-polar people are human too, y'know! Why not say "I have a 19 year old daughter with bi-polar disorder"!?)

And I don't think she's bi-polar at all - her behaviour is completely atypical of someone with the condition (I should know, I'm bi-polar myself)!.

Sounds more like the behaviour of someone with borderline personality disorder (and I should know about that as I have it too - and I did similar things as a teenager)!.

If she's been diagnosed as bi-polar (and I loathe being an armchair shrink) then it sounds as though she's been misdiagnosed!. I would seek another opinion, if I were you!. BPD is far more complex a condition than bi-polar disorder and needs very skilled handling and treatment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
