Answers:
Yes, you can take prozac and vicodin concurrently!. The two are not contraindicated!.

Prozac is an SSRI, by the way, not an MAOI!.

Yes you can in small doses, as necessary for pain!. Medically speaking though is not advisable!.
Why!?
1!. Because Prosac and Vicoden are metabolised (Cleared) by the liver, so your'e harming the liver, especialy if alcohol is involved!.
2!. The sedating effect of Prosac will be enhanced (Increased)with Vicoden!.
If your'e using Vicoden for pain and no other drug is helping you, then discuss with your doctor to make a dose adjustment and periodic liver function tests!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Vicodin is made up of acetaminophen and hydrocodone!.

Prozac is a significant inhibitor of CYP 2D6, one of the liver enzyme variants!.

Hydrocodone metabolism tends to go through CYP 2D6 - the same isoenzyme that the Prozac inhibits!.

So, yes, there does seem to be a possible issue!.

A doctor/pharmacist could go through the implications with you!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

According to my findings on Drug Digest!.com you can interact the two drugs!. They advise you to not use alcohol while taking these two drugs, it can cause liver damage!.

I've always heard you shouldn't mix Vicodin or other strong pain killers with psychotropic drugs!. The reaction would be similar to taking antidepressants on top of a lot of liquor! At the very least, please make sure you don't drive when you're on Vicodin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No Prozac is a MAOI and u shouldn't mix those due to the respiratory lowering responce ( you can stop breathing)Www@Answer-Health@Com
