Book with test for learning disabilities/adhd in teen...?!

Question: Book with test for learning disabilities/adhd in teen!.!.!.!?
My 14 year old son is going to have an evaluation for learning disabilities, in 4 months, to see what he has!.
We are leaning towards either nonverbal learning disorder or adhd!.
Is their a book that I can buy in the meantime that has a test or at least detailed criteria of different disorders so we can have an idea of what he has!.
He has been homeschooled his whole life and is having problems with the transition to the more structured high school!.

Answers:
Books by Barkely are classics in the area of ADHD, and truly can't be beat!.

As far as determining the relative contributions of ADHD and learning disorders - you're looking at some very complex evaluations!. These types of evaluations are the sorts that professionals spend years learning to administer, score, and interpret!.

If you are mainly looking for hard and fast diagnostic information, take a look at the DSM-IV-tr!. If you google "DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for learning disabilities" you will be presented with a wealth of information!.

It is important to note, however, that you will want to be sure to pay close attention to the results of his evaluation!. This truly is an area where it is VITAL that you have a professional do the diagnosing!. If you have ANY questions - be sure to ask them during the results session!.

Best of luck to you and your son,
