How do I convince my parents they should go see the doctor for a check up?!
Question: How do I convince my parents they should go see the doctor for a check up!?
My parents are in their forties now, and I'm worried about their heath although (knock on wood) they are healthy!. They haven't gone for a check up in a lonngggg time and whenever i tell them they should they just brush it off!. I'm just paranoid because of all the stories of sudden ailments!.

Do they have insurance/money to pay for a check up and time to go!? Do they have each have a primary care physician that they have seen in the past!? If no then this might be why they're brushing you off!.
You could try emailing them some articles about why checkups are so important as you get older but most likely the reason they haven't gotten around to it is just procrastination!.
Sit down next to mom/dad with phone in hand and doctor's number ready!. Say, "Mom/Dad, I'm going to make you an appt!. to see the Dr!. for an annual physical!. What would be the best day and time for you to go!?" This might be the only way to actually get them to go!. Of course, they could get mad lol but it's worth a try!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tell them how much you love them and that you want them to be around when you have kids!. Your Mom should definately be having her mammograms!. Tell them Early detection of any disease can be a life saver!.
Also, tell them that if they keep up with their health now, that they will have a better quality of life when they are older!.
One more thing,, there are silent diseases!. A person can have high blood pressure and even diabetes and not realize it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
