Question: Are doctors in America over diagnosing psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression!?
Answers:
Yes!. Sometimes people get dxed with anxiety when it is a legitimate physical disorder (example: having the itchies that are later discovered to be an allergy but doctors mistake it for "anxiety", which seems ludicrous in my opinion)!.

A doctor says "depression" when a person may have a complaint due to a circumstance that would drive anyone crazy, such as job stress or divorce!. As soon as the label is stamped, it is automatically deemed a "mental illness", and that gets "medication"!.!.!.!.!.!.see!? The over-labeling is a convenient way to avoid delving into the real issue, which may involve some work in changing the stressors or the environment (which most doctors don't want to deal with)!.

So absolutely, they are overdiagnosing - because a psychiatric dx is an escape hatch for them!. Say "anxiety" or "depression", and it is all in your head and a -choice- for you to take their touted drugs, which takes the onus off them and on you!. (That's not the whole picture, but imo it shortcuts them from real work sometimes)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes and No!.

Yes because they get kick-backs from the drug companies that sell the drugs for anxiety and depression!.

No, because we are under so much stress in the world, that anxiety is likely to happen!. The times are much more difficult today than they were years ago!. People are losing their homes, gas is SO expensive, food is expensive!.
People are feeling the effects of these and depression and anxiety result!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is another, more altruistic, reason why psychiatrists may be diagnosing serious mental disorders more often!.

Insurance companies/the rising cost of treatment!.

So many people are being diagnosed with depression that some companies have begun to decrease assistance for the more common diagnoses!.

In an effort to make sure that someone who is suffering can receive affordable health care some caring, scrupulous psychiatrists are searching for applicable diagnoses which will ensure that their patients get the help they need!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES THEY ARE!!!!

They make big bucks off everyone they can put on meds!. I was unemployed several years ago due to a neck injury and the government agency that was suppose to be helping me get retrained for another job did nothing to help me but rather kept trying to talk me into a depression so they could get there Doctor to push drugs!. The government is the biggest dope dealer in America!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, depression and anxiety are just that common, god knows I have both and most of my friends do too!. And all of them have at least one of these disorders!. Its getting more and more popular with all the horrible things that happen in this world, and all the daily stress we deal with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

not really, as society's pressure is proven to be much higher than it was in other decades!. But for other things, yes!. Kids are being diagnosed for things as restless leg syndrome, or ADD!. Both of these are from lack of discipline, but parents nowadays are just way too overprotective of their kids and just give them painkillers to solve it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, they are simply trying to be proactive when it comes to diagnosis!. Otherwise, they will be the victim of a lawsuit and lose their license to practice medicine!. It's the lawyers fault!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
