Self harm..? 10 Points best answer!?!


Question: Self harm!.!.!? 10 Points best answer!!?
I've self harmed for a few years now and recently i went to get help from my doctor!. In appointments she asks me a whole load of questions and we've talked about a few things in greater depth!.
She says i might benefit from psychotherapy and she's told me to book an appointment with the community psychiatric nurse so i'm going to do that!.

I do trust her and everything but i'm worried/scared about whats going to happen!.
Cutting has become pretty much the only way i can deal with things and i do NEED to do it now!. So when i stop i don't know how i'm going to manage!.!.!.

Will she just get me to the point where i wont do it anymore but still want and need to do it!? How will i cope after 'treatment'!? I do really want to stop but i can't imagine living without it!.!.!.i first did it when i was 11 and i'm now 18!.

What will the outcome be!?

Please only serious answers!.!.!.!.i know self harm is very wrong and thats why i went for the help!.

Self-harm can become very addictive when you have done it for a long time!. Treatment will be about finding another way you can cope with all the feelings you keep inside!. It will also allow you to explore openly your feelings without being judged!. The feeling of needing to self-harm will reduce as you explore and learn new ways of coping, these new ways will help you through the rest of your life as you will feel you won't need to go back to self-harming!. When you feel you don't need or want to do it anymore, is when you know you have found another coping mechanism!. I self-harmed for 7 years and i never thought i would be able to find another way to cope, i couldn't imagine my life without self-harming as i had done it for so long, but with help i found another way!.

The outcome will be that you will find another coping mechanism and you will be better for having had treatment as you will learn about your feelings and your life as it has been so far!. the purpose of therapy is to get you to realize life is manageable without cutting!.
just like when someone quits smoking, its extremely hard, but you eventually brake the habit and just keep on living!.
ive cut, but i stopped, i didn't go to therapy, but my friends put alot of pressure on my and kept an eye on my wrists,arms you know!. i did slip twice, but i got back on track!.

If you really want to stop it, you won't do it anymore!. And its so good you asked for help!. That's a very good initiative into stopping what you know its not right!. It will be hard in the beginning, because you were used to doing that, but it's like any bad habit!. If one wants to lose weight, they have to stop eating!. I self harmed for over 5 years!. With the help of therapy I was able to find other ways to help cope with things other than cutting myself!. Therapy has really helped me and changed my life!. What parts of your body do you cut!? I think you shall work as a butcher or carcass dresser!. Then you can transform your self harming neurosis into harming an external object!. She will probably get you onto anti-depressants and to see a psychologist regularly!. I know you need to know the Lord too!. You are special to God!. Better still to talk to a pastor!. it didnt really start out as cutting but gradually turned into that!. I completely understand where your coming from!. Cutting is an addiction, and like any addiction you wonder how you'll live without it!. Seeing the physchiatrist will be like rehab!. She should help you through it and teach you other options do deal with pain or anxiety or whatever is causing you to cut!. If you really do want to stop, then the proper help will do the trick and you wont want to go back to it!. I have read an article on this subject!. In the article it described feelings!. The person is either feeling too much and will 'cut' to stop those feeling or the person isnt feeling what they think they should be so 'cut' to feel at least that pain!.
I think the psychotherapy can help, but there has to be a lot of willpower on your part!. Try to think of it as an addiction type of behavior such as drugs or drinking!. It is hard to stop, but we get through it!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

To be honest, know one can ever truely know what the outcome of anything will be!. You just have to give it a shot, and try not to be scared!. I'm sure everything will be fine!. I used to cut myself to cope with pain in my life, i thought i was making myself feel better, but i was only putting myself in danger!. Now, I just breathe, and count, and try to relax!. It kind of works!. Sometimes I do want to do it again, but I just keep telling myself its not worth it!. The bad things in my life can only last so long, but those scars will be there forever!. it's an addiction at this point is kinda what yur saying you relize its wrong and your trying to fix it!.
well like any addiction you first have to want to stop
obviously you do
then you should try replacing the addiction instead of getting frustrated and grabbing a razor blade

grab a pencil draw something i draw and paint now
i used to cut alot!.
i got a reallly good friend i can call her whenever and she'll stop what she's doing to listen i also got rid of anything i could use to hurt myself!.

for a while i would egt angry and instead of cuting i would hurt other people
i'm also bipolar so the medicine i take helps alot!.

blog about it
express how you fell by telling somone or drawing it!.

it really helps
just try to replace that aspect of your life with another


with that one single act your could completly change the tregectory of your life
