i dunno where the hell should i go! i think ive developed social anxiety!. blablabla i dnk where to go or whats the difference among them!.!. help me please!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Both of the aforementioned answers are correct!. To be very simple!.!.!.a Social Worker allows visits from them coming to your home, or you going to a clinic of some sort!. They are responsible for keeping an eye on your progress and if any new problems crop up, they will know the avenues to suggest!. Their major work is to monitor clients and their week to week progress!. They also hook you up with any needed services that are available!.
Social anxiety fixer, not really!. There could be a time when a social worker may feel the need to put you into various social settings as a small step in getting over the anxiety!. This is rarely recommended, unless the client agrees to it!. More times than often, the one on one contact with the social worker can provide enough activity in yours, mine, and many others lives who have this problem!. I on the other hand, have defeated my social anxiety by seeing a Psychiatrist!. This is partly due to the fact that they are medically trained individuals (2 years of med school or so), who have enough pharmacutical training to understand how drugs react, and which meds are prescribed for certain psychotropic maladies!. Many times, Psychiatrists these days do nothing but write prescriptions (charging up to $140 plus) for the written prescription alone!. If you should decide to try a Psychiatrist, ask around for one who cares about their clients!. Back in Freud's day, it was expected to "free associate" one's feeling as you rested on the coach!. Today, 15" minutes of
"how you been doing"!.!.!. "meds still working ok for you"!.!.!. is all one can expect!. This is while they are writing out your prescription!. Usually, they schedule an appointment for 2-3 months, giving enough dosages to have for them!. This tells you how many people suffer with some type of dopomine/serotonin maladjustments there are in every city!. So do not feel ashamed about getting help!. You proved that by reaching out to someone tonight!. That is a great first step!. Now, a Psychologist, one of my degrees, does spend time talking to their clients!. Not as much time as, say a social worker (depending on their case loads, also), but there is usually an alloted amount of talk time 45-60 minutes where you are made to feel very comfortable about talking about your insecurities!. I love talking to my psychologist--- that being me--- and a good friend who began treating my anxiety when I knew nothing of why I felt the way I did!. He is also a medical doctor, so he prescribed some meds that gets you thru the day!.
Anyway, there is so much to say to you concerning this!.!.!. try to have insurance for medication costs, what meds are harmful, how not to take the therapist's word that a med works because a textbook said so, if it feels bad to you, tell them!.
In closing, what you should do is contact a neighborhood clinic (costs are less), tell the nurse practitioner what is going on with you, and then have them point you to the type of therapist they may think will help you most!. Remember, it's your ultimate decision and choice to choose or reject any type of treatment!. Should it become too serious and you need emergency care, please have a friend or relative accompany you when you go!. There are several reasons for this!.

p!.s!. I will just mention a couple of medications that are used for this type of anxiety!. Paxil, Depokote, Abilify, Wellbutrin, Fluroxine
Now these have got to be prescribed by a qualified physcian and should only be taken under their care!. I mention them so you may be familiar with the names when a doctor speaks of them!. Every person reacts differently to a variety of drugs, that is why you must report any side effects after around 10 days or so!. It takes at least some days to adjust to the dosages!.

Clinical Psychologist - 4yr undergraduate degree!.!. then a 4yr doctorate in clinical psychology and then 2 years as a psychologist registrar!.
Psychiatrist - 4 yr undergrad medicine!.!. 1 intern!.!. then a 4yr residency in psychiatry!.

Psychiatrists treat mental health issues with physical symptoms!. They work from a biological basis and usually treat with medicine!.
Psychologist treat pure mental health issues!. They work from a cognitive behaviour stance (usually!) and treat with psychotherapy!.

Ultimately both diagnose and treat mental health disorders!.The important thing for you to consider when deciding which professional to see, is if you want to treat the symptoms through medication or psychotherapy (each equally effective)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had anxiety for years!. Bugger the social worker!. Start with a psychologist!. If yr not feeling better in 12 months, see a Psychiatrist!. At the end of the day a Psychiatrist, to me, is the best!. They can also determine whether you require medication as well as doing all the things a psychologist or social worker would do!. Social workers are useless to me!.
Take care and good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would go to a psychiatrist if I were you!.

But if you have your mind made up that you don't want to take medication, try one of the others first!.

Personally, I see no reason why I would go to a social worker unless I was trying to apply for some kind of government benefits or something!. I wouldn't go to a psychologist unless I wanted to my IQ evaluated or find out if I have a learning disorder!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

social worker has a degree in sociology, they kind of help you with different aspects of daily life!. Psychologist is like a therapist!.!.!.you go and talk to them about your feelings/problems!. Psychiatrists are Doctors who can diagnose and treat you either with medication or therapy!.!.!.you best bet is a psychiatristWww@Answer-Health@Com
