Scared of being good looking - why?!

Question: Scared of being good looking - why!?
All my life I've been a quiet good looking girl who's outgoing and nice!. Last 4 yours I went through a lot of things and one of the consuquences were that I gained weight!.

Now things are finally looking good and I've overcome many of the emotional hurdles!.

Now to my problem - I have now decided to loose weight the healthy way to look good and feel good as well!. But there's a mental blockage!. Somehow I'm scared of loosing weight and looking good again!. I think it is because I associate those " good looking days " with the time when everything was difficult!. So whenever I start eating healthy and exercise, something in me gets scared and I end up eating unhealthy things!.

It's not cause I'm hungry or I have the craving, but it's almost as if something in me wants to sabotage me from gettig back into shape!. Can someone please give me advice on how to overcome this!?

Thanks for reading!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe u got unwanted attention back then and u dont want it now!. But u should not think of it as going back to the way u were but starting a new time in your life!. Alot of very overweight people want to keep the weight on because they dont want ant attention from men!. I dont know if thats u but maybe there is a reason like that!. And people sometimes keep weight on because they feel it protects them from something and that they use food to make them feel better and when u start dieting and that u know u cant use food as a crutch anymore which can be scary!. I was sexually assaulted years ago and put on alot of weight!. I couldnt lose it because there was a mental block thinkin that if I looked any way attractive again I would cause unwanted attention from men and give them the wrong impression!. I got counselling and after a long time I lost the weight, but I had to keep reminding myself that I was becoming a new person instead of thinking I wanna b like I used to be!. Are you in college!? Your situation sounds like you could benefit a lot from a few in-person counseling sessions, which are usually available at no cost through your school's mental health services/psych program!.

The fact you seem to realize you are "sabotaging" yourself leads me to think you are capable of critical thinking and would do well interacting with a trained counselor, ultimately finding more stability in your situation!.

Just thought I would put this out there, and good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you're afraid!. Afraid of standing out, maybe!.
It could be a fear of returning to emotional struggles!. Think about it!. How much better would you feel if you lost weight!? But would it bother you!?
Maybe you're not ready for that yet!.
If you really want to- go slowly, and try to know you'll be fine!.

Hope that helped! ^_^Www@Answer-Health@Com
