Ok I have been married to my husband who has BiPolar for over 15 years and he was diagnosed over 5 years ago!. He has the type 2 which is the more deep depression with some mania, but not very often with the mania!. It took me a long time not to get mad at him or upset!. I finally over the years have come to realize that yes this is a real disease and he isn't just irritated and often depressed because he chooses to be that way!. This is truly an illness and you learn over time how to deal with each person!. Now it isn't the same for everyone!.

I have learned what triggers his anxiety and panic attacks and try to stay away from those subjects!. I try to not bother him with mundane conversation that might spark depression or anxiety!. If it really isn't that important I just deal with it on my own!. I just keep quiet and when he is ready to talk I am there to listen to him!. I look for the good days and enjoy those with him and on the really bad days I give him a pill and send him to bed to sleep it off!. It is all I can do!. I try hard not to blame myself for anything because I know most of the time it has nothing at all to do with me!. Yes it is like walking on eggshells, but I love him from the bottom of my heart and willing to get thru this with him!. It would be like anyone else with a disease!. You just never know when you marry or like someone what they might come down sick with!.

I know it is frustrating, but if you truly love her you will try to get her the help she needs!. True BiPolar needs to be treated with medication!. It isn't an exact science so that is why it is important to go to a psychiatrist that will work with you and try to find out what works best for her!. Keeping a journal of her ups and downs and any stresses helps a lot!. She won't be able to do this on her own!.

If you feel you won't be able to handle this then get out know!. It is not for the faint of heart!. Women tend to not deal well with BiPolar because of the hormones and emotions that are already there versus men tend to be a little stronger in dealing with the illness!. Not always, but tends to be the case!.

Hang in there!. Love her!. Cherish her!. Get her to eat healthy, walk, drink plenty of water, cut out the caffeines- these can be a real trigger, and lessen the stress in her life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
