Pulling my hair out (trichotillomania), stress anxiety??!

Question: Pulling my hair out (trichotillomania), stress anxiety!?!?
I pull the hairs on my head out one by one!. Its like an anti-stress anxiety thing!. I dont do it enough to have any bald spots yet, but i do it enough for it to bug me!. A lot of the time i dont notice im doing it!.
Some strands are wavy or frizzy and crinkly, they are the only ones i pull!. Is there a hair product to eliminate this!? Why do some grow crinkly like that!? Its only on the back of my head like under some hair or near my upper ears on my scalp!.
How do you break this habit!?
I guess it is called trichotillomania!.
People also pluck their eyebrow hairs out, arm haris, armpit hairs even for hours!. I do all this and sometimes sit with scissors and cut out my split ends one at a time!. To try to stop I will throw my tweezers or scissor across the room to stop, but this is after an hour or so!.
Please help! Telling me to get a counceler is not gonna help or give me info, I plan to and your not really answering my question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you are aware you are doing this get up and do something else such as take a walk or some other exercise!. Not only will it take your mind off of doing this, but exercising will relieve the stress!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get a hobby, something else to do with your hands preferably!.

I used to do that when I was really upset!. I tried taking myself out of all the stressful situations, and it helped a little!. I haven't done it in a while, but it did really bother me when i did!. You could go see, and talk to someone about it!. They might prescribe you some anti-anxiety medication!. It helps, I just feel better and more calm now!.
I hoped I helped, I know its annoying, but you'll find a way to overcome it!.
Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unfortunately, sometimes the only realistic answer IS to seek help from a counselor!. If you could stop on your own, you probably would have by now!.

Trichotillomania is often associated with OCD and other anxiety conditions!. If your hair-pulling is, in fact, trichotillomania, there are three ways to break the habit, and all involve the help of a mental health professional!. 1) A counselor can help you with behavioral training by helping you determine the cause of your anxiety (the underlying reason you're pulling out the hair in the first place, which may or may not have anything to do with your hair) and helping you work through the anxiety!. 2) They can prescribe medication to help alleviate the anxiety!. 3) They can recommend a combination of both therapy and medication!.

Since you already plan to seek treatment, you might want to prepare by journaling about your feelings every time you notice yourself pulling out hairs!. Are you stressed!? Bored!? Something else!? Writing down your thoughts and feelings will be very helpful for your session!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
