Here are 4 simple steps for him to take!. Panic attack is perfectly treatable without medicine!. He don't need to take them!

Step 1

Have a complete medical examination to see if there is any physical condition that could be causing the symptoms!. Explain the symptoms to the doctor and ask him if he would do full blood tests - this will rule out anything such as diabetes, thyroid problems etc!. Get his eyes tested as well to make sure his sight is not causing those worrying dizzy spells and headaches!. If necessary, ask to be referred to an ear specialist to make sure the dizziness is not caused by an ear infection or something similar!.

You could ask for an E!.C!.G!. to make sure the pounding heart is quite normal!.

He will not be able to start your recovery if his still convinced that there is something physically wrong, so this step is very important!.

If the doctor does find a physical condition that is causing the symptoms then you may find that once it is treated and cleared up, the panic attacks will stop!.

Above all, if his given a clean bill of health, he MUST believe that panic attacks is not going to kill him and the symptoms are just temporary and will, in time and with some effort, recede and go away!.

Step 2

Take a look at his personality to see if he have any high-anxiety personality traits that could be contributing to his anxiety!. He may need to seek the help of a therapist to work on these feelings!.

Many sufferers of anxiety/panic tend to have low self-esteem and self-worth!. Working with a therapist to increase the opinion they have of themselves can help reduce the panic and anxiety!.

Step 3

Take a close look at his lifestyle and make changes that will help in the long-term!. Watch his diet and trying to cut out different food groups to see if the symptoms are eased!.

Stop drinking tea, coffee or any drinks that contain caffeine!.

Stop drinking alcohol and start exercising on a regular basis!.

Step 4

Last and most importantly!.!.!.Don't try to run, hide or avoid panic attack!. Accept it!.

Nothing will happen to him during panic attack!. Assure him that!. His not gonna die! He will ALWAYS come out alive!. This is THE KEY to getting rid of panic attack forever!.

Encourage him: "I know that what you are feeling is painful, but it's not dangerous!. You are courageous!."

"You will be alright no matter what you feel!. I am proud of you!. Breathe slowly and stay with me!. It's not the place that's bothering you, it's the thought!."Www@Answer-Health@Com

He doesn't have to be a slave to his anxiety, there are so many wonderful people and resources to help!.

I am glad he is starting therapy, that will really help him get the ball rolling so to speak!. Many behavior therapists use social skills training to reduce anxiety and start building interpersonal skills!.

I would also suggest talking with a doctor about some medications that will help with his anxiety with little side effects!. I take Xanax when I need it but it should only be used short-term!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Make sure you inform the doctor about what he has been experiencing!. The will monitor his meds when they put him on them and you watch him to make sure he is taking them!. Congratulations on the children and hang in there they should provide him with some exercises that will help calm him down as well!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

well when he goes to the therapist he should definitely consider taking meds, to help living with anxiety can be un-manageable!. GOOD LUCK!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh man I'm experiencing the same cuz I get panic attacks just like that!. Its awful becuz I bet he as a man must feel worthless!.!.!.!.!.that's how I feel because I can't even work also!. I am currently taking paxil but want to change to xanax!.

When I went to the ER for a panic atttack they gave me that and helped right away!. Maybe the therapy will help but he should try some meds!. I also didn't want to take meds so I'm trying to find a therapist and learn breathing techniques to help me out!. Well hope he will feel better soon and you too !. Be patient because this disorder is horrible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
