Why is it that people with autism cant get regular jobs?!
Question: Why is it that people with autism cant get regular jobs!?
even if they have above average IQ, say 130!. I know most have a low IQ, but what about the high functioning autistic individuals, why is it that just because they lack social adaptability, we cant find something better for them other than cleaning tables or equivalent job!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Employers are usually not willing to take risks or make accommodations in order to make it possible for an autistic person to have a regular job!. Employers usually go with the easiest option, which is hiring someone who doesn't have any obvious problems that might require extra effort or accommodations on behalf of the company or co-workers!.
Most jobs involve some communicating or working with other people and that's where the problems often begin!. Autistic people are "blind" to a big part of neurotypical communication and that causes misunderstandings, it can upset either party and lead to problems!. The work environment is a part of the reason too!. Autistic people usually have very sensitive senses and can't function well in the busy, noisy, bright environment of most working places!.
It's sad and unfair that people are not given a chance!. Many people with autism spectrum disorders can be great employees if they are given a chance and get to work in a suitable environment, doing what they are best at!. Society and businesses are missing out on a lot of geniuses and lovely people because of lack of acceptance and opportunities for those who are different from the mainstream!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My daughter is Autistic, It's way more complicated than that, even though they are very intelligent and great memory, the bigest issue is that the majority have no sense of time e!.g - day of the week, month, etc!. they have to be prompted constantly, that's why they are given simpler jobs, they can also work in music, art and computers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
They should be able to - this is just so unfair!. We have Autistic Spectrum Bases in the school I work in and the children who attend these classes are intelligent and learning new social skills all the time - just like all other children!.

higher funtion is called aspergers and u can find a better job like ones in computers but its hard when you lack social skills!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
