How can I get my mind off smoking a cigarette?!

Question: How can I get my mind off smoking a cigarette!?
A couple of months back, I saw that in statistics that if both parents are smokers and they have a child, [I think] they are 3 times more likely to become a smoker!. My mother would smoke only 1 cigarette a day, she quit years ago!. My dad still smokes, and he smokes cigars!. I won't lie, I have smoked before; and somehow since I look older then I am, I bought a pack even though the guy asked for my ID; I squeezed around it!. I stopped!. I'm a healthy person, I exercise everyday, eat healthy, play sports nonstop [I was raised as a tomboy] plus, I box!.But I want to get my mind off of this!. Any way I can!?

You sound like you take pretty good care of yourself!. As an ex-smoker, I would say the best way to keep your mind off smoking is to remind yourself how all your hard work will be for nothing if you start smoking!. Your ability to do the physical activities that you like will diminish because you will lose lung capacity!. You're only 17 and you have some much time ahead of you!. Smoking now will affect your life years into the future!. Don't risk your health!. Focus on the activities you love, and think about how awful smokers smell!.!.!.that should take your mind off cigarettes!. If that doesn't work, think of the cost!. A pack is $6!.00 where I live!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it all has to do with the hand and mouth thing!. Maybe buy some lollipops, or chew some gum!. Also identify those times when you were most likely to have a smoke, like maybe if you were on the phone, or when you get up, and during those "cigarette moments" , you could do something strenuous, or anything that redirects your thinking!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you seem to be doing a lot of things that occupy your time, but try doing more of your hobbies!. if you occupy your time you won't be yearning for a cigg!. and everytime you do find yourself wanting a cigg, do something else, like eat a lollipop, or just drink water!. that way when you think about a smoking, you automatically think of something else!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

watch a man die of cancer, ive seen people go in bad ways, but thats the worst, i promise you!. I smoked since age 12, watched my uncles body literally rotout from the inside, never smoked another ciggerate again, their disgusting death sticks, stay away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Quit smoking is one of the toughest things to do!. It relates a lot to the things you do and the environment you are in!.
Indeed, i use to smoke constantly, especially since i was living at the dorms' university and my roomate smokes too!. I always smoke after dinner, when i'm drinking, and when hanging around with my roomate and floormates!. But i did always had the intention of quitting, because it was doing harm on my soccer games and my dad is having troubles due to cigarettes too!. I had stopped for weeks and then back again and so on!.
Last semester i decided to change my environment and move out with my sister!. My smoking reduced!. After knowing my dad was on intense hospital care due to smoking i stopped buying them!.
I started going to the gym more often, do more running exercises and haven't seen my roomate since!. For 7 months i 've only smoked a pack and thats bc i was on a party trip!. Which i might say its quite good process!.

So my advice, you don't have to change your life but change your routines of doing things!. Stop doing things that intrigues you to cigarettes, instead try doing new stuffs and keep in mind that you don't need to smoke!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
