I need help with addictions... please help me?!


Question: I need help with addictions!.!.!. please help me!?
It started in 5th grade when I was In alot of stress!. I was the dorky fat kid with braces and glasses!. People seemed to enjoy making fun of me!. thats when I started pulling my hair out!. It hurt at first, but my body ignored the pain, I would do it constantly!. Somehow it made me happy!. soon I started getting bald spots!. soon the top of my head and the sides behind my ears where almost completly bald!. I am trieng to break my habbits when I started scrathcing myself!. I grew out my nails and would sceatch myself raw!. now i do both and i need help breaking my addictions!. please help me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your honesty and ability to see what you're doing and your desire to stop are admirable! Much as I believe that lots of people find good advice and help here on Yahoo Answers, I think that the help you need should come from a doctor and/or therapist!. I don't know how old you are, but you should probably start with your family doctor!. Share your concerns and ask for a referral to a specialist who can help you!. You have been pulling your hair and scratching yourself for a long time, I presume - - and you've done these things to avoid emotional pain!. You need to keep yourself occupied with something else!! Try to do something else with your hands like snapping your fingers or write " stop it" on your knuckles to remind you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

hmm, yeah, that was like me when I started cutting, I ended up seeing a therapist and stopping because of him!. Maybe you should see a therapist or at least a doctor!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You would need to seek the help of a professional, I don't think this is something you could just stop doing on your own!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

go see a shrink thats more like OCD (Probbly isnt ocd but is some psychological thing) then an addictionWww@Answer-Health@Com
