Question: Too scared to work!?
My husband has been out of work for a couple of months now!. He has decided to join the navy, but the classes don't start for another six months!. He would like to work to bring some money in, but since he has been out of work for so long, he is frightened by the thought of dealing with people!. Some days he has a hard time getting outside!. He is seeing a counsellor but I was wondering if anyone had any advise from personal experience!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I went through the same problem after having had a nervous breakdown and seeking professional help!. The return to work was more difficult than my time at work prior to treatment!. After some time in therapy, we realized that my root issue was my embarrassment from being off work for so long!. To resolve that, I first began by volunteering in public programs to rebuild my socialization!. I think at first I only volunteered once a month!. It's been since October of '07, and I'm finally returning to full time work!. With the economy as it is now, your finances may be tight, so you may not have enough time for intensive therapy!. I suggest he look for a part time job that has all of the responsibilities clearly lined out for him!. The less he stresses about his work responsibilities, the easier it will be to rebuild his confidence in himself!.
