Being bipolar or manic depressive is just a PART of who that person is!. So whatever it is you like/love about that person is still going to be there, no matter what!. It is important that this person is getting treatment for the disorder! Either counselling or medication or a combination of both!. We can be difficult to deal with, my husband tells me that I have moments where it's like he's living with a toddler!.

Be patient, and open-minded, the more positive and supportive you are, the better the relationship between the two of you will be!

Whatever is positive about them right now!. I'm Bipolar and I have been with my boyfriend for five years now, medicine has pretty much keep my mood swings at an all time low and I am the same person I was before I discovered I had the disease!. I guess this isn't the best answer but if he/she has really bad mood swings and he can't control the mania or depression part of it have him smoke weed thats what my therapist recommended, it does work when the disease gets too much to handle!.!.!.I'm telling you this b/c I'm guessing your not seeing the postive in that person if you asking that question, I can't list the postive because he/she is the same person!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am bipolor and I have been with my bf for three years!. If he is on the right meds he should be fine!.

Good Luck!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
