Question: My best friend is addicted to meth!?
She has been abused as a child and her mother used heavy drugs while she was growing up, but she would always wanted to stay strong like she said i would!. She is no living on her own and has choosen to become a stripper which is fine with me but she has started a huge drug prob!. shes been acting really weird and when i try and talk to her about it she gets all mental she refuses to go to rehab and has already been in a pysh ward for trying to kill herself!. We've always shared everything and i feel ive been a positive light in her life!. I just dont know what to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow!. This is hard, because she won't stop unless she wants to!. Mostly you can be there and support her!. Tell her that you care about her and that you are concerned because she is killing herself!. Offer to drive her to rehab or therapy!.

I am a recovered meth addict!. It has to be her decision to quit!. There isn't much you can do!. Meth addicts will get very paranoid when you start mentioning rehab and getting help!. It will push her away!. Just try to be there for her when she needs it!. I know what it's like to be on it!. Eventually I saw no other way out and got my family to help me quit!. You should contact a drug prevention organization!. They can help you help her!. If you can get in contact with anyone else who cares about her, and is a good influence on her, try an intervention!. Corner her where she cannot escape!. Tell her its hurting you to see her hurting herself!. You may get through to her but you'll have to get her into an in-patient rehab center as soon as possible, so if you decide to do this, contact a rehab center close to you before, just to give them a heads up and make sure they have room for another patient!.
