Question: Can meditation help a depressed person!?

DEFINITELY!.

The more you meditate, the more you will become at one with your body and your mind!.

Concentrate on absorbing the energy around you and placing it into the pit of your center!. The more you do this, and the longer you do this, you will see that your life is under your complete control, and you will feel centered and revitalized!.

BUT, i dont think meditation can SOLVE your depression problem!. You would have to get to the root of the issues of why you are depressed!. But it will DEFININTELY help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

absolutely!! it worked for me :)
I got a really good book (The Teachings of Buddha), it's a bit cheesy but if you actually read it all and apply it to your own life in general it can make a huge difference!.!. after that I haven't really had any reason to be depressed because it taught me to be appreciative of every little thing and opportunity, and all the people that I love!.!. but I do still meditate (in my own way) when I go through anything stressful :)

Yes! The medicine I am taking is Effexor!. used to treat major depressive disorder, anxiety, and panic disorder!. I went to my doctor and he first gave me xanax and people told me it was addicting and I told my doctor I wanted something else!. The effexor has really helped me!. No depression and no blowing up for no reason!. It made a big improvement in my life!. Just be honest with your doctor and tell them what is going on!. BUT FOR THE MOST PART YOUR DOC PUTS YOU ON SEVERAL THINGS UNTIL YOU FIND THE RIGHT THING AND THEN THEY GO FROM THERE!.

because of side effects
also antidepressants can bring on thoughts of suicide, so that can be dangerous
i would prefer natural antidepressants like omega 3
