Answers:
Depression at its worst can deteriorate into a paranoid thought disorder (psychosis)!. The when depression dips into a psychotic realm, it is marked with lasting only so long as the mood is depressed!. Psychoses of a different sort (such as comes with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder) shows itself repeatedly or consistently!. While some people have depression along with a psychotic disorder, if the thoughts return to normal when the mood returns to normal, then the psychosis is presumed to have been associated with the depression itself!.

However, in order to be diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he would have displayed either a manic or hypomanic episode, marked by euphoria, high energy, poor impulse control (particularly in the areas of spending, sex, and travel), grandiose thinking, and extreme productivity that is far out of character with his normal state!.

By the way, the symptoms of depression include sleep disturbance, appetite disturbance, withdrawal from activities and people that the patient used to enjoy, trouble concentrating, inordinate feelings of guilt and sadness, suicidal thinking, unrealistic expectations of being punished, emotional restrictions, and sometimes, weeping!.

Best of luck to you and your husbandWww@Answer-Health@Com
