If you've been to therapy, can you become a therapist later in life?!

Question: If you've been to therapy, can you become a therapist later in life!?
I don't want any negative remarks on here please!.
I was just wondering if you went to therapy for
depression, can you be qualified to be an Art
Therapist!? I wasn't sure if that mental illness
would prohibit you from acquiring that occupation!.

Thank you (:Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've been in all kinds of therapy for years and in December I'm graduating with a bachelors in psychology!. My shrink is even helping me with applying to grad school to get my doctorate!. If you put your mind to it, and can do the work, you can definitely become a therapist!. Heck, there's even a multiple (has Dissociative Identities Disorder) with a published book about his struggle with his disorder who got his Ph!.D!. If he can do it, almost anyone can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Absolutely not!

In fact, therapists themselves go to therapy on a regular basis to make sure they are keeping a line between their problems and their patients'!.

People who have experienced problems and therapy are better able to help others!.

I have read, though, that psychiatric medications can affect your ability to get health insurance and life insurance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hun I struggle with mental illness and i'm starting school in the fall for therapy!. We all have are struggles in life and need help!. Just because we stuggle that can't stop us from what we want to do!. Go for it hun, I wish you the best of luck and hang in there hun!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some of the best therapists and behavioral specialists were once patients themselves (those who dealt with depression, anxiety and such!. Not the REALLY crazy ones)!. Who better to relate to and to understand what another person is experiencing than someone who has experienced it themselves!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

alot of therapists are in therapy themselves dear and just becuase you a little depressed or having issues doesn,t make you mentally illWww@Answer-Health@Com
