Is it common for children with ocd to be immature??!

Question: Is it common for children with ocd to be immature!?!?
After being diagnosed with Ocd-I'm trying to get a good understanding about the disorder!. My daughter is very immature for her age-almost seems like a 10 year old and not a 12 year old going on 13, and yet some times, when the melt downs come, she's even younger!. Parents with ocd children and pros or those with OCD please answer only!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

At the age of 2, I knew my daughter had OCD!. Her clothes came off because they weren't 'RIGHT'!. It took forever to get her dressed in the morning!. She had meltdowns everyday, especially after coming home from school!. At the age of 9, I finally decided it was time to get some drugs because she cried everyday for 7 years!. I came across a psychologist who specialized in neuro-feedback!. It is hooking the child up to a computer, looking at their brain and changing the brain through simply playing games on a computer screen!. After 10 visits (after about 3 visits, she stopped crying everyday), she was so much better!. Her grades went up and she's so much calmer now!. After the 10 visits, we would go for what I called a 'tune up' once a year, but she is 17 now!. She is a straight 'A' student now that she can concentrate and we never had to give her drugs!. I highly recommend finding someone who can do neuro-feedback in your area!. It was a lifesaver for our whole family!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I haven't experienced this but everyone is different!. I have OCD!. I was never formally diagnosed and now, I wouldn't even call it OCD generally anymore!. It doesnt interfere with my life!. I didn't realize it had been OCD until about 7 yrs after there was some symptom subsiding!. There was one immature thing that was part of my "schtick"!.!.!. every night I'd have to say to my mom "I love you, she'd say love you more, Id say I love you more than that!.!.!." and we would go on!. I did that until I was about 15 (aka way too long) but during the day, I didn't act immature!. My OCD didn't call for it!. I would touch things 3 times!. No one even noticed!. I would lock myself in my room and pray for 4 hrs sometimes getting every word perfect so God didn't strike my family dead!.!.!.having to start over if I mixed up a visual cue!. It was really hard but again, I hid that from my family for a long time so no one really knew!. Long answer short!.!.!. I think it depends on the person and what their rituals are!. What I do know though is that you have to get to the bottom of what is causing her anxiety!. For me it was a new school and it took me about 5 yrs 12-17 or 18 and not being around anyone from elementary school before my syptoms started to subside!. They still come out when I am undergoing something really stressful!. Good luck!. It is tough for parent and child!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Children in general are immature, and seeing as she's very close to puberty she might be getting mood swings!.

I think the immaturity is natural!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
