Answers:
Yes, they might be able to offer you other types of 'non-talking' therapy like art therapy!. These people are skilled and experienced in mental health problems and they don't expect you to just open up to them!. It can take weeks, even months to build up that trust and they recognise that!.

Your first meeting will probably be just about getting to know the therapist and what sort of work they will want to do with you!. You will be part of the decision making process, so if you don't like the idea of what they suggest, you are allowed to say 'no, i don't like the sound of that!. can we try something else!?' This is about you, so don't be worried!.

It will help you, it might take tiume, but hopefully you will feel the benefits of it!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

they usually get you to talk about things without you realising i hate showing emotions and talking about them but they get you to open up without you really thinking about it and yes they will be able to help you with that they ask all the questions they ask you what you think the problems are then they ask you things about your family your background and other things so they can find out where the problem came from that you might not know yourself but honestly dont be worried i was at first but was fine when i got there xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, and it helps - there's no need to be scared!. It's their job to be nice to you!. They will understand that you find it hard to express yourself, and undoubtedly they will have seen many before you with similar problem(s), and so probably already have both an idea and understanding of how you're feeling, even before meeting you!.

Good luck hun - I hope it goes well for you!. And chin up - it may well turn out to be the most important and life changing thing you ever do!. xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hi there
I went to psychotherapy a few years back & yes it did help with the problem I was having at the time!. You only need to talk about things you feel happy with it help talking to someone one else rather than your family or friends!.
One thing he told me to do was write things down that bother me read it then distroy the paper at least this gets it off my mind if I cant talk to anyone about the problem & I still do this til this day and it still helps!.
Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They will help you learn to talk and express you self, they will share you journey with you, guide you whist keeping you safe if you find some areas difficult to discuss they will be there and keep you safe!.

It is hard work but well worth it, it really makes a difference!.

I'm someone who knows what its like no to be able to talk

Not yet, my mentality is due to distressing environments, other people and responsibilities!.
Therefore, I don't need someone telling me it is all within myself yet!.
Plus, I haven't been caught acting crazy yet (that doesn't mean I haven't), so no one has suggested I go!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

like most forms of therapy!.!.if you think and want it to help!.!.it probably will!.!.!.if, like me, you dont believe that talking to a person that went to university, will help in anyway at all!.!.!.it won'tWww@Answer-Health@Com

psychotherapy is like any other therapy in the way you only need to divulge what you want to and if you don't like it don't go back!. however i suggest you give it your best shot and try a few sessions before you decide if it is for you or notWww@Answer-Health@Com
