Yes!. Being a sociopath is the extreme form of antisocial personality disorder, which is a very real mental disorder under the classification of personality disorders, like borderline personality, paranoia, and schizotypal disorder!.
In most people, it is treatable and controllable with therapy!. Drugs don't help much!. But in very extreme cases, sociopaths may never recover and may be a danger to society!.
One in ten people fall somewhere on the antisocial spectrum, but only one in a million of them are dangerous!. Most are totally harmless!. Stunt doubles, for example, often show qualities of antisocial personality!. They don't stir easy in emotional situations, and don't experience fear the way most people do!.
