I need some serious advice from someone who is familiar with depression?!

Question: I need some serious advice from someone who is familiar with depression!?
I have had crushing depression for several years, as well as severe anxiety and borderline personality disorder!. I take 4 different kind of meds to control this, but it's not a cure-all and I still find most days i'm unable to leave my home!. I had to go on leave from my job because it is so severe!.
My aunt recently called me and told me how she was tired of seeing me miserable, and said if I "get off all the anit depressants and anti anxiety meds" and come out and excercise with her every day, i'd get better!. I told her i've tried going off my meds, but end up in the hospital every time because my moods become out of control and dangerous!. She said that's all in my head, nonsense!.
So I don't know if she's right, if I should drop all the meds and try to deal with being so unstable!. I'm only considering because she was crying when she called, saying how pretty I am and how much potential I have, and it's so sad that she sees me waste it away hiding in the house!.
I don't know what to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I didn't read all the answer you got here, but I will tell you this!. I have been in treatment for depression for 23 years and for borderline for a little over a year!. It's NOT all in your head, and the meds do help!. However, medication is not a cure all, and the meds are not magic!. I found the best thing for both of these disorders is a combination of medication and therapy!. The best therapy I had- especially for the borderline was DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)!. It was developed especially for people with BPD, and it's amazing!. I also didn't leave my house for the better part of like 3 years, so I've been there too!. Please let her know that both of these disorders have both biological and environmental causes, and you cannot treat the biological ones without the medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You've seen what happened when you stopped the meds!. It's not all in your head (although, if you stopped abruptly, the withdrawal may have played a part in the problem)!.
I wouldn't discount her offer of exercise, I've read that it helps with depression, and I know that when I was walking every day it did wonders for mine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bless your heart! I don't know about going off of your meds - but I do know that exercise DOES help and it has been proven that it does!. If I were you, I'd really try to exercise - I know it helps me!. I know I got worse when I wasn't exercising at all!.

I wish you lots of luck and endurance!!!

Take care!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have been there, I know it seems like it will never get better!. It does! I saw an anxiety specialist who got me off my meds and changed my entire life!. If you can find the right one, there are people who can help you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im going to say excersise a lot with your aunt, and when youre getting better, then you can start gettting off the meds!. but dont just drop the meds all at once do it one by oneWww@Answer-Health@Com

sounds like you and your meds need to be reevaluated!. you may need the meds but maybe the ones you are on are not working for you!. you may need to change them!. getting off of them totally i think is a bad idea!. now i do think the exercise would do you a world of good!. it would help with some of the anxiety, not to mention keep you healthy!. your aunt may want to do some research on depression!. it is not all in your head!. sometimes it has to do with a chemical imbalance!. go to the doc, get evaluated again!. make sure your meds are good for you!. get your exercise, you can do that in your house!. when you are ready to venture out, do it slowly!. and please, if your aunt is adding to your anxiety, politely explain to her that maybe it would be better if you two didnt be in touch so much right now!. good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I suggest that you should gradually remove the depression and anxiety medication and start exercising immediately!. Exercise is a very effective way to combat depression!.

But as for your borderline personality disorder, you should continue taking these medicines while treating your depression!. You may already know that depression is the root of all of your problems so this is where you should work on to be resolved!. Start going out and have a network of friends who can understand your condition!. Be busy with a home business or something else productive!. I can't emphasize being busy any further!. These will build up your self-esteem and eventually, rid you of your depression!.

Just don't give up and keep trying ways to give yourself exposure to the outside world!. One way or the other, you'll find one that will give you a new perspective!.

Like I told the other asker about his depression, 99!.9% of the effort in treating depression/anxiety is in your power alone!. All the advice in the world, medicines and therapy are only guidelines and temporary relievers!.

You can get through it so don't give up on life!.
Hope I was able to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi there!.
I am 29yrs old!. I have much knowledge invested in this subject and I suffered from some debilitating ailments myself!. I became suicidal and all kinds of bad things!. Your Aunt is right for the most part!. The reason it is not as easy as quitting the meds and just feeling better, is because they will deplete your seratonin and dopamine and if you just quit taking them then your sure to feel aweful!. You could try to ween yourself off of them!. But, she is very right about getting out and excersing!. Jogging will naturally increase the areas of your brain that the meds have been depleting you of all these years!. You will not feel better over night, but you will be headed in the right direction with slowly decreasing and adding jogging!. Let me tell you, the personal strength within came from prayer and God for me!. It is up to you how you approach this, but for me , I could not do it alone!. I came off of similar drugs and I jogged every day!. I was a bit meloncholy but I am now very happy, excited about life, love my dog, love to walk, love roller coasters, and I wake up with a smile every day!. If you cannot do it alone, ask god to help you find the strength!. But, start taking small steps with your aunt and off meds!. I am sorry to say that the meds are a quick fix for Psychs and easy money too!. Maybe a psychologist would be better, they do not offer drugs and they may be able to talk you through adjusting to the medication withdrawls!. It is important to find Dr!.'s you trust, as they are not all in to help - Some just want your money!.

Good Luck! God Bless!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, I'm just studying psychology so, don't take my advice seriously!. I can see that you either went to a psychiatrist or a specially trained psychologist who is allowed to prescribe medications!. My advice to you would be to stay on the medications, exercise with your aunt (p!.s!. you are lucky to have someone who cares) and in the mean time look for a psychologist who can actually try to figure out with you why you are depressed!. The easiest thing in this world is to shove someone with medications and be done dealing with them!. P!.S!. anti depressants make you suicidal so, be very careful! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi!.
I am no expert but some of the meds that are supposed to treat depression are inferior to natural cures!. I am also sure that your aunty has your best interests at heart but maybe she doesn
