Answers:
Just absolutely extreme will power!. Lock yourself away, pehaps throw the key out the window! Pairing up with someone with the same addiction and working together to overcome it always helps!.
No secret!. Just have to be so strong, and so, so, so determined!.
Never have this addictive substance in private (and if it is ciggies/ drugs just go cold turkey)!. If it's booze/ food then have it in moderation in public and NEVER NEVER NEVER in private!. Sometimes it requires a near death experience to overcome it or a serious shock!.
Just try and try and try!. Devout all your energy and time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey there,

What a great question!. The secret might be different for different people!.

For me, it was all about becoming willing to be open!.!.!. open to a higher power, open to someone elses way, open to learning, open to letting things go, open to peace!. I didn't have to know everything!. I could just relax and Be Open (or willing to be open)!.
Another big part for me is remembering that the universe is conspiring really good things for me if I just get out of my own way!.

The attitude I had to develop was that in every situation, peace became the priority!.

Also, prayer definately helped, but writing those prayers seemed to have more power!.!.!. and praying for God's will , not my own, then trusting God's will!.

Good luck!

PS: I wrote a plea for help, asking if God was really there, if He could help me - I surrendered completely!. 3 days later I was in rehab!. Rehab will increase your chances and give you a great supportive network!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are different strokes for different folks when it comes to addiction!. I believe that the best way to overcome addiction is to try rehab or an inpatient treatment center, depending on the severity!. The one thing to keep in mind is that you can only recover if you are ready to get better!. Keep a positive mindset and remember there will be bumps along the road, don't beat yourself up over them, every bump you cross makes you a little bit stronger!. It will be hard, but use a support system!. You don't have to do this alone!. Use willpower and you will find whatever gets you through the roughest times!. I wish you or whoever you are speaking of the best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Think positive, you are stronger than you give yourself credit for!. Also don't expect miracles right away, don't expect to quit forever, everybody falls back into old patterns!. So don't lose hope if you have a relapse!.!.you are only human!.
Take up hobbies that you enjoy and that will help you pass the time!. I am an artist, so I love to draw, paint, etc!. Writing helps put things into perspective too!. Try writing in a journal, especially when you get the urge to use again!.!.write down why you have this urge!.!.did something trigger it!? Were you worried or upset about something!? Sometimes it helps to put feelings on paper to understand yourself better and get it out of your system!.
Read books, study, do crossword puzzles, mind puzzles, anything you can think of!.
Exercise, get out of your surroundings, go for walks, eat right, take vitamins, etc!. Whatever it takes to make you feel good about yourself!.
Prayer DOES help when you are having a moment of weakness!. Even if you don't believe in God, pray to the universe for the strength to get through another day, then give thanks for all the things you've already been given in life!. It works!. ;)Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first step is you have to want to break the addiction more than anything in the world!. If you have an "addictive personality" you will have to replace the unhealthy addiction with healthy ones!. Some people find they can become "addicted" to their recovery!. These people may attend 12 step meetings 7 days a week, 365 days a year!. You have to identify what "triggers" you and avoid those things!. There is no "secret" but there is one effective path to recovery from addiction that I know of, and that is the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous!. There are programs for every type of addiction adapted from AA!. It works if you work it!. I don't know why this is the only proven solution, but it is!. Check it out!. I think you will find that there is something for everyone at these meetings!. Your journey will be a spiritual one!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The 'trick' is :
"I don't HAVE TO have, (do), it now! Not Now!"
One moment at a time!.
Learn to resent, and fight, that urge like it is
an enemy to be defeated!.
Anger can help you!. HATE that enemy!
Eventually, it gets easier and easier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

GO to REHAB!.!.!. and stay there!.!. don't leave because you wimp out or because it gets rough!. It's going to be tough!. The easy part was becoming the Addict - the hard part is cleaning up your mess!.!.!. your family and friends will be grateful for it!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com
