Question: Is it possible to have some memory loss and or bad memory retention and motivation after surgery!?
I had minor surgery it was my appendix BUT instead of key-hole i was knocked out and they made a nice incision!. Anyways ever since it happened i was layed up for ages couldn't lift for 4 weeks and so on also i lack motivation i ended up losing my job that before hand i was doing really well at because i couldn't be bothered to go to work so i would rock in late!. i find it very difficult to remember things i realised i forgot alot of information upon returning to work!. this was some time ago now and nothing much seems to have change in the areas of motivation and memory retention!. any feedback!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You probably have postoperative cognitive decline (POCD)!.
For many surgical patients, POCD disappears within a year!. A small number, however, may have lasting memory problems!.
