Why cant i sleep ?!


Question: Why cant i sleep !?
im 16 and im having a hard time trying to get to sleep, every night im awake at stupid hours of the night untill i eventually fall alseep at 7am - ish or on worse nights i dont sleep at all!. i have deppersion and when im trying to relax and fall alseep i think about bad things that ive done like self harming, hurting myself again and i worry a lot too!. i know they will have a factor in why i cant sleep but is there anything else that could be stopping me falling alseep, i listen to a lot of music to help switch off but its having the opposite effect now, it wakes me up more!. the lack of sleep is starting to affect my whole life, i dont enjoy much, im aggesive, im very tierd and when i do mange to fall asleep i sleep most of the day!. help/advice !?Www@Answer-Health@Com

My friend had problems sleeping because of depression!. He said what got him through it was thinking of great things that have happened to him!. They could be the smallest thing that has made you happy!. You need to clear your head about all the bad things for awhile and remember that there are still people who love you!. You'll get through it trust me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What i would do is:

Take some sort of medicine eg: Night Nurse
Don't think about trying to go to sleep because you never will
Think about happy times
make sure your not to hot (that affects me allot)

When this happens to me sometimes i have headaches when i wake because i sleep to long!.

You need a mental health professional!. You need help with your depression and your insomnia!. Kids your age do tend to sleep late in the morning and feel awake late at night, but you seem to be sort of at the extreme,and its making you unhappy!. Ask your parents to make you an appointment with a psychologist or social worker!. If they aren't able to do that, call your own doctor and ask for help!.

there are a lot of little tips but the 2 most important are!.!.!.

1 - staying on a schedule, wake up the same time every day and make sure its not too late!. at first this will probably be very hard because you'll barely get any sleep but it'll get you on a good schedule for the long run!.

2 - when you are trying to fall asleep, don't try for more than a half hour!. if you are laying in bed for more than a half hour, you won't fall asleep any time soon and the anxiety you build will only make it worse!. go do something fun!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
