Well there are two types of bipolar; bipolar I and II!. There is also people who are rapid cyclers, and I'll explain all this in one second!. In Bipolar disorders, there are two types of episodes, a manic and a depressive!.

The manic episode usually consists of elevated, expansive, and irritable moods that last at least a week!. Usually you feel like you need to sleep less, talk more, talk faster, distractable, irritable, desire to do risky behaviors, and you usually are distressed at these feelings!. The depressive episode is depressed mood, fatigue or enerdy loss, feelings of worthlessness, concentration difficulty, decreased interest in activities that you derive pleasure from, and these usually last 2 weeks!.

NOW, Bipolar I is diagnosed when you have one or more of the manic episodes and the possiblity but not the necessity of a depresive episode!. So you have to have a manic episode, but it isn't required to have a depressive episode!. Bipolar II means you have one or more depressive episodes and at least one hypomanic episode (this is like a manic epsiode but not as extreme)!.

Now that I've told you all the medical jargon, I would say you do have some symptoms of a bipolar disorder, and I would talk to your mom about seeing a therapist or a social worker!. They can better tell you what's going on, and can help you get better, even if you don't have bipolar disorder! Some people who don't have any mental disorders can be helped by just seeing a therapist once or twice just to help them get back on track, so talk to your mom and tell her you need to talk to someone!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tell your mom that she may be right, you may not be bipolar, but you would feel comfortable if you could talk to a therapist!. Just explain to her that you'd like to go to talk about some issues, instead of making her feel like you're trying to prove her wrong!.

Keep in mind that you always have the school counselor or school nurse to talk to if your mom is against the idea of a therapist!. A school counselor can talk to your mom for you and explain why therapy may be helpful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Put on the brakes!. Remember, only a qualified medical professional (i!.e!. psychiatrist) can diagnose bipolar disorder!. A diagnosis is based on a complete personal and family medical history!. If you're still worried about this tomorrow ask your parents to setup an appointment with a psychologist or psychiatrist!. :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stop!. Think!. First, a teenager would experience these emotions!.!.!.!.going through the motions I beleive is the correct term!. A person with bipolar normally stays on the up for a week or two before going on a down which would last for a week or two!. The quizzes online don't mention that these periods of ups and downs aren't taking place in a day, or hours!. They're taking place in weeks!. A week of good, a week of bad!.

But I'm not a professional at all, I've just tried to do the same on these internet quizzes and asked a doctor!. My advice is to ask a doctor, like you said you were going to do!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yea, but some mood swings are normal!.!. depends on how severe I guess!.

are you getting enough sunlight!?
are you getting enough exercise!?
are you getting enough sleep!?
do you take a multivitamin!?
are you drinking caffeine - that can mess with all kinds of things!.!.
are you drinking alcohol!?
are you eating gluten (wheat/rye/barley products!? that can sometimes cause problems!.!.)
have you forgiven people whoh ave offended you!?

maybe you feel guilty about what you are doing sexually!? maybe you need to talk to someone about it!?

it's like in our culture the first thing people do is go to a doctor and get a pill!.!.!. maybe you need to learn to relax!.!.

go fishing - do something mindless - help others - quit thinking about yourself all the time!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

are you eating healthy
getting enough sleep
lack of those can bring on symptoms of
many mental illnesses
you may have it or not
also don't be so quick to label yourself
also check out natural remedies, if it
turns out you do
omega 3 helps bipolar and is naturalWww@Answer-Health@Com

You are describing some manic symptoms!. You need to tell your health care provider about this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

could be Add & or bipolar!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is inappropriate to label a young person with a mental illness, but as you know you have some of the symptoms!. They could be caused by things in your diet or your lifestyle, I would suggest you look into it!. First, get the junk that contains artificial colors, preservatives or sweeteners out of your diet!. Caffeine will also make bipolar symptoms worse, so get off or get it down to one cup of tea or coffee in the morning!. No soda!. Omega 3 fatty acids (fish, flax, hemp oils) stabilize the brain!. Amino acids like gaba and 5-htp are calming!. B vitamins help when you are depressed!. Regular sleep is important too, go to bed at the same time each night, don't stay up even for a movie, because it can trigger mania!. You can also try a gluten free/casein free diet and you may be sensitive to chemicals in foods called amines or salycilates, or both!. Anger is usually amines!. Avoid bananas and avocados, plums, figs, and tomatoes!. And DEFINITELY do not use drugs or alcohol, bipolars pay a high price for those!. Unfortunately mainstream mental health treatment is not very effective and can start a downward spiral!. I suggest a naturopath who has experience in this area would be better!. You may only need to get the amines out of your diet to feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are concerned, then you are definitely a candidate for help!. Go to your doctor and ask, don't forget this time lol!. Your symptoms do match up with the general symptoms of bipolar disorder, but you need to be diagnosed by a professional to be sure!. I don't know how old you are, but if you are a teenager, chances are that these moods are completely caused by your hormones, and you are healthy!. The only way to be 100% positive is to go to a doctor!. Do not rely on internet tests and self diagnosis!. I have taken bipolar disorder quizzes online before, thinking the same way you do, that I definitely have it, and the quizzes told me I do!. But in reality I don't!. I was diagnosed differently (depression/anxiety)

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
