Answers:
I have a very extreme case of bipolar 1!. I've only been in one 3 month relationship in the last 5 years!. I've had many opportunities!.
At first it bothered me but since then I realised that it's just that much simpler to stay out of relationships!. I know what I'm like and how bad I get!. I really don't want to make another person have to deal with it too!. I'm now pretty content with being on my own, in fact I wouldn't know how to be in a relationship at this point!.

That being said I know plenty of bipolar people who's relationship has succeeded!. In all cases it's because the bipolar person is being properly treated!.

Make no mistake though, it isn't easy!. In fact, depending on how bad they are it can be extremely taxing!. Sometimes it's worse for the other person!.

Bipolar disorder does get better if treated but it takes time!. It never goes away!. We are capable of loving!. Sometimes we love too easily!. Some of us have a very hard time showing it!.

What you need to realise is that every bipolar person is different so what counts for one will be different for another!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The love from a bipolar partner is intense, but existent!.
Sure they are indecisive, controlling, calm ,and irrational all in one day but thats makes them who they are!.

If you can't handle being with someone, discontinue the relationship!.

Learn to know when or what triggers the person to suddenly change, if you know what tjat is, use it to your advantage!.

If you find it troubling knowing how, or what makes the person flip modes, then you be the sane person in the party and make the rational decisions!. Sometimes bipolar people can be taught when and how to switch, they just need to meet the right teacher, ;)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Timspot answered your question quite well!. My husband is bipolar, and we've been married 16 yrs!. Ironically, I've been recently diagnosed with the same - bipolar!. We ea!. take different meds!.
It's not "easy" being bipolar nor being married to a bipolar person!. Most important thing is to take meds!. faithfully and stay away from street drugs, alcohol, etc!.

It does take more patience and a lot of understanding, but yes!. Being in love or loving a bipolar individual can work!. My husband and I are living proof!. Fact is, it can be wonderful!. Bipolar people (even on medication) love dearly and care very much for others!. Just like anyone else - I think!. Sensitive!? Yes!. Very easy to forgive and forget!.
Simply put - The relationship requires more effort!. Any marriage/relationship requires that, of course!. I suppoe it just depends upon the amount of effort and patience (and love) that you want to put into it!. It's been and is worth it for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Reverse opinion here!.!.!.I am bipolar and I can tell you what my wife has done to keep our marriage together as seen from my eyes!.

She is the most loving and understanding woman in the world!. She is VERY active in my treatment, very important!. She goes to all of my appointments because we have found I am often the least qualified person to report on my mood swings!.

She is a master of forgiveness and does not know how to hold a grudge!. She knows that sometimes there is nothing she can do and she steps back and then helps me do damage control when the storm passes!.

She is supportive of all my crazy ideas howver she reads my mood well and helps me make adjustments to my plans during times when I am especially agreeable!.

There are some things due to stress that I just can't do and she takes those things on her shoulder more than willingly!.

I hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am bipolar and really don't like the way some of the people above me replied to your question!. They seem pretty clueless!. Anyways I am bipolar type 1 and I have it REALLY bad!. It takes a special kind of person to date someone who is Bipolar!. It's not easy, sometimes it is impossible!. Every bipolar is different!. I am a human being and I am very capable of love and showing affection!. Infact, because I am bipolar, I love passionately!. However, I can hate someone just as passionately!. I wont say that dating a bipolar person is easy, infact it's VERY difficult if they are not taking medication!. You ask will it get better!? I don't know!.!.!. I do know that a bipolar will always be bipolar!. But I can promise you, Bipolars love just like anyone else!. I love my mom, siblings, and relatives!. I dated a girl once who I really loved, but I started abusing amphetamines and they caused me to go into a psychotic manic episode!. I pretty much scared her off!. I miss her ALOT and sometimes still shed a tear or two over losing her!. Whatever, I learned a lesson!.!.!. take your meds and don't do drugs!. My point is this, if the bipolar person is taking their meds!.!.!. I don't see why you couldnt have a happy relationship!. Just remember though, this person you are dating has a chemical imbalance!. So it wont always be peaches and cream!.

Edit: Poopy, I had to laugh and what you posted!. We do own people in bed!.!.!. HAHA!! I went hyper sexual one time and probably banged every girl in my apartment building!. Man I pissed off alot of boyfirends!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, although my girlfriend at the time did get lucky with the drugs she was on!. She did not have horrable side effects, just minor ones that did pass in time!. Yes, they can 'Love', but only during those 'up' times!. It is tough to deal with!. Hopefully the person you are referring to will have some good luck with the medications they are trying!. Try to hang in there for a while!. At least give it a 'try'!.!.I know that at some point, you just might have to think of yourself, and move on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They can love!.
I've been with my Mike for 5 years!. He's my best friend!.
It can get better, but they HAVE to be taking their medication and seeing their doctor!. When Mike was, things were great!. We were finally happy!. But when he's off, he's delusional, he's violent, and life is just awful!.

You have to remember they are sick and need a doctor to be treated!. There isn't a cure but they can live good lives!.

Just don' forget you come first!. Take care of yourself and stay safe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

jesus christ, stop judging people's moods and when some arbitrary line is crossed--into which you get off by labeling them 'bi-polar'!.

This is THE most over-diagnosed condition in all America!. It is an effect of society's constant and stressful demands upon us!. Moods make us human, and if you like repressing them--well, then perhaps you're the sick one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im sorry i have to laugh at the comment above me just coz im bipolar myself!.!. and it can be exactly like that sometimes believe it or not!.!. lol BUT yess !.!.!. it works!.!. you just have to be a little more patient and understanding!. :]Www@Answer-Health@Com
