Answers:
A Psychiatrist!. Meaning a Medical doctor, who specialized in the field of mental afflictions!. They are the only doctors that can truly get as close as they can to knowing what's wrong with your brain!. I know a lot about this illness, as I have it severely, along with Panic disorder!. A Psychiatrist will most likely start you out with SSRI-antidepressant treament therapy for anxiety!. If it doesn't work (which it doesn't, for ever single person I know with anxiety disorder!. And I don't know why they teach that in the damn medical school!. Benzodiazepines are THE most effective med for anxiety, and if only lower than 2mgs a day equivalent of Klonopin or Xanax, then the addiction potential is very low!. But you will still have to do the whole long trial and error SSRI treatment, and eventually he'll give you the real deal!. Just don't abuse them when you finally get them, because daily abuse can cause serious, and even fatal withdrawal!.
I can tell you right now though, those things suck to run out of if your own a dose that causes dependency!. It sucks BAD!. Another reason to stray from taking even an extra every once in a while if on such a dose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

While a primary care physician is not qualified to deal with anxiety disorders,,They are probably the best ones to go to for an informed referral!.

Nor are PCPs qualified to diagnosis and treat such conditions!. If they do try to prescribe anti-anxiety medications, it will simply be a stab in the dark, usually based on the literature they have read!. A psychologist is one who will work with you to help diagnose, identify the causes and recommend treatment!.

If, at some time, they feel that a temporary pharmaceutical therapy is indicated, they may confer with your PCP, identify what they have learned and between the two, the physician may order a temporary trial medication!. Of course, this would only be AFTER you have signed an "informed release" to allow the two doctors to confer and discuss your case!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have anxiety disorder too, currently I am seeking help from a counsellor!. Don't go to the regular doctor they are not train to treat your anxiety disorder!. See a psychologist or psychiatrist or counsellor!. If you do not know where to get those doctor, ask your family doctor to refer you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A regular Dr will give you a referral for psychiatrist!. In the mean time cognitive behavioural therapy is great for anxiety!. Check it out on th net and a great book is Feeling Good the New Mood Therapy by Dr David D Burns!. It helped me a lot!.
PS!. you will get well, it's a very common disorderWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm from the UK so we have the nhs!. First point of call is the doctor!. If it's something that needs more specialist support then they refer you to the right specialists!. Depending on the severity they can deal with it without referring!. In most cases for mild/moderate disorders they are OK!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Start with your primary doctor!. He/she will refer you to a psychiatrist, preferably one who specializes in anxiety disorders!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A regular doctor can do it!. The only time a regular doctor won't treat a patient is if the patient has an extreme psychological disorder, such as bi-polar or psychosis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your regular doctor can prescribe something, mine did!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
